Why do people write poems for middle school students?

At present, middle school teachers and students, especially middle school Chinese teachers, should be aware of the importance of modern poetry education: modern poetry education is not only conducive to improving students' literary literacy, language ability, taste and aesthetic education ability, but also to alleviating the psychological and emotional pressure of middle school students during adolescence and cultivating students' sound personality and healthy psychology. It is necessary not only to change the backward situation, but also to make modern poetry teaching an important content and vanguard of Chinese teaching in middle schools and even humanistic education and aesthetic education in the whole middle schools. Modern poetry education in middle schools should mainly change two misconceptions: "students don't like modern poetry" and "modern poetry is useless in exams". First, the functions of modern poetry are varied, and the enlightenment function is only one of them. We should pay attention to the lyric function and entertainment function of poetry. Love is the best teacher. The first is to make students like modern poetry, not to impose it on them. Especially in the field of modern poetry, because of the backwardness of modern poetry teaching in middle schools at present, for the purpose of revitalizing modern poetry, it is impossible to forcibly popularize modern poetry. Second, change the popular idea that many middle school teachers give up modern poetry teaching, because modern poetry is useless, because there is no college entrance examination. Modern poetry is the highest language art and a typical example of human language wisdom. Appreciating and writing modern poetry can cultivate students' emotional sensibility and imagination, and also make students feel what art is, appreciate the exquisiteness of language art and cultivate students' aesthetic sensibility. Therefore, writing poetry is not only for practicing writing, but also for improving people's language intelligence and developing people's intelligence. When I was teaching writing in the first year of Chinese Department in a university, I asked every student to write poems. Its purpose is not to cultivate poets or even modern poetry lovers, but to improve students' writing level and develop their intelligence. I just regard writing poetry as a way of "practicing writing" or "intellectual gymnastics" to improve students' writing ability and promote the writing of related styles, such as prose, novels and even papers, daily practical writing and other styles. It is helpful to promote the study of related disciplines, especially art disciplines, and even help to train students to become an emotional person, a caring person, a person with artistic taste and a person with better quality of life. Teaching students to write poetry has essentially become a talent education means of "combining education with beauty". Now some middle schools have also changed the single composition teaching method that only requires students to write compositions, requiring students to write poems, and improving students' writing level by writing poems. For example, Liu Shurong, a teacher from Huaying Middle School in Yubei District, Chongqing, boldly asked students to practice writing by writing poems in high school Chinese teaching. Students' writing level has been greatly improved, and they have tasted great sweetness in the college entrance examination. Today, I can embark on the road of professional literary research, become a postdoctoral fellow and professor of literature, and publish millions of words, which is also related to my insistence on writing poems since the first day of junior high school. I hereby appeal to middle school Chinese teachers to boldly ask students to write modern poems.
