2022-02-28 "Death Meditation" that points to the future direction of life

In "The King of Powers", it is said that things are blank and neutral. Buddhism calls them "empty", which means that things themselves are not good or bad.

How we view things actually comes from ourselves.

No matter how successful you are in making money, or how you maintain a clear mind and enjoy your money reasonably, you will eventually reach the end of your business or even your life.

When you stand at the finish line and look back, is all the time and effort you put in meaningful?

Only when you try to look back at your life and career from the inevitable end, will you make up your mind to make your business realize its true value. Only when you can practice placing yourself in the future, at the last moment of your life, and look back on what you have done in your life, will you truly be determined to make your life full of meaning.

There is a practice in Tibetan Buddhism called "death meditation."

Method of "Death Meditation": Just wake up in the morning, lie in bed, don't open your eyes, and then ask yourself: "I am going to die tonight, how can I spend the rest of my life in the most meaningful way?" Not much time? ”

“Death Meditation” must be practiced consistently and over a period of time to produce the most powerful effect. There will be several realms:

(1) The immediate effect is that you start to simplify your life: get rid of certain items and slow down the pace of life. This is the beginning of a new kind of physical and mental freedom. Throw away all the items you haven't used in the past six months. Clear space and let your mind shift from slowness to agility and speed.

(2) Start adjusting your schedule: If you won’t do something on the day you die, don’t do it now. For example, reading newspapers, watching TV, gossiping, etc.

(3) Examine your career: If you were to die tonight, is this the job you really want to do? Is there something else you would rather do? If you are doing work that you feel is important or beautiful every day, it might be worth making less money.

(4) Sublimation stage: The idea of ??"tonight is the deadline" will trigger your instinct to be attracted to the most beautiful and meaningful things in life. Standing at the end of your career, looking back on the past, "Was my efforts worth it?"

"Death Meditation" is designed to help you think about the direction of your life in the next few years, and make something now that you can look back on in the future. Decisions that bring joy and satisfaction to the past. Not only does this make the end goal you set more fun, it makes the entire career journey more fun.
