Because Satan can't rebel freely in the sky, his hatred for God has found a new scope of activity in plotting to destroy mankind. From the happiness and comfort of the couple in the Garden of Eden, he saw the supreme happiness he lost forever. He was jealous, so he decided to tempt them to betray God and let sin and its punishment fall on them. He will turn their love into doubt and praise songs into complaints about the creator. In this way, he will not only let these two innocent people fall into their own pain, but also insult God and make the whole heaven depressed.
It is not that our ancestors did not warn them of the danger they were in. An angel from heaven explained to them the fall of Satan and his vicious plan to destroy them. Angels explained to Adam and Eve more clearly the essence of God's regime-the regime that the evil king tried to overthrow. Satan and his whole army have fallen because they have violated God's righteous commandments. This shows how important it is for Adam and Eve to respect this law, because only this law can maintain order and justice.
God's law is as sacred as himself. This is the revelation of God's will, the portrayal of his character and the expression of his love and wisdom. The harmony of the whole universe depends on everything, whether it is animals or plants, which completely conforms to the laws of the creator. God has made laws to govern not only all living things but also all natural activities. Everything is regular, and there is no need for a moment. Everything in nature is governed by the laws of nature, but among all creatures on earth, man is governed by the laws of morality. Since man is a masterpiece created by God, God gives man the ability to understand his law, know the justice and love of his law, and know all the sacred rights that this law gives him. Therefore, people must be fair and law-abiding.
Ancestors living in the Garden of Eden, like angels, have to go through an experimental period; If they want to live a happy life, there is only one condition, and that is to obey the laws of the creator. If you obey your destiny, you will survive; If you go against your destiny, you will die. God enriched them in his grace; But if they despise his will, the Lord who does not tolerate sinful angels will not tolerate them. Violating the law will lose his talent and lead to pain and destruction.
The angel warned Adam and Eve to beware of Satan's tricks, because he would tirelessly frame them. When they obey God, evil people can't hurt them; If necessary, the messengers of the whole heaven can also be ordered to help them. As long as they are loyal to his initial invasion, they can be as safe as angels. If they succumb to the temptation of Satan, their nature will be corrupted, so that they no longer have the ability and will to resist Satan.
God used the tree of good and evil to test Adam and Eve's obedience and love for him. The Lord only forbids all fruit in the garden; But if they flout God's will in this matter, they are guilty. Satan can't tempt them anywhere else, but attack them from the tree forbidden by God. If they want to explore the nature of this tree, they will be tempted by his cunning. Angels once advised them to pay attention to the warnings given by God and be satisfied with the lessons given by his kindness.
Satan uses snakes as a medium in order to finish his work unnoticed, which is the most suitable disguise for him to cheat his work. At that time, snakes were the smartest and most beautiful animals on earth. It has wings, and when it flies in the air, it will give off dazzling golden light. It lies on the fruitful branches of the forbidden tree and enjoys the sweet fresh fruit on the tree. It is really pleasing to the eye. So the destroyer lurks in a quiet paradise, waiting for his prisoner.
The angel warned Eve not to leave her husband when she was engaged in daily work in the garden. With her husband, she is in less danger of being tempted than when she is alone. But she was so absorbed in her happy work that she left Adam unconsciously. When she found herself alone, she felt dangerous, but she got rid of her fear and felt that she had enough wisdom and strength to distinguish evil and refused. She didn't notice the angel's warning. After a while, she stared at the forbidden tree with curiosity and envy. When she saw the fruit on the tree was very beautiful, she couldn't help wondering why God wouldn't let them eat it. At this time, the tempter's opportunity came. He seemed to know her mind, so he said to her, "Did God really say that you are not allowed to eat the fruits of all the trees in the garden?" (See Genesis Chapter 3:) Eve was greatly surprised when she heard this, as if it were an echo of her thoughts. At the same time, the snake continued to talk to her in a very pleasant tone, cunningly praising her beautiful appearance; And these words are not unpleasant. Eve not only didn't escape there quickly, but was surprised to miss listening to snakes. If she is talking to a living creature like an angel, it will cause her panic, but she didn't expect that a charming snake would become the medium of fallen angels.
Eve answered the tempter's tempting question, saying: we can eat the fruit of the trees in the garden; God once said, you shall not eat or touch, lest you die. The snake said to the woman, you don't have to die, because God knows that your eyes will be bright on the day you eat, and you will know good and evil like God. (Gen 3: 2-5)
The snake said: If they eat the fruit of this tree, they will be able to live a higher life and enter a broader field of knowledge. It ate the forbidden fruit by itself, so it gained the ability to speak. He also hinted that the Lord forbade them to eat the fruit of this tree because of jealousy, for fear that they would be equal to him if they ascended to heaven. It is precisely because this fruit has wonderful characteristics that it can make people have wisdom and ability, so God forbids them to eat it or even touch it. Satan also hinted that what God warned them would not really come true, but was only used to intimidate them. How could they die? Haven't they eaten from the tree of life? God did this only to prevent them from achieving higher development and greater happiness.
From Adam's time to the present, Satan's work has been like this, and has achieved great success. He lured people into disbelief in God's love and doubt his wisdom. He often wants to arouse a frivolous curiosity, an impetuous thirst for knowledge, to explore the mystery of God's wisdom and ability. So many people want to explore what God's good intentions have kept, but they ignore the truths he has revealed, but they don't know that these truths are exactly what they need to be saved. Satan tempts people to disobey God and tempts them to think that they have stepped into a wonderful field of knowledge. But this is totally cheating. They are complacent about their progress, but they are actually trampling on the rules set by God and are on the road to corruption and death.
Satan told the holy couple that it was good for them to violate God's law. Didn't we hear the same argument today? Many people say that they have a narrow vision of keeping God's commandments, but at the same time they think that they have a broader vision and enjoy more freedom. But this is just an echo of the sentence in the Garden of Eden: "The day you eat"-that is, you have violated God's commandments-"You will be like God". Satan said that he got great benefits from eating the forbidden fruit, but he didn't let anyone know that he was banished from heaven because of his crime. Although he has found that the result of sin is infinite loss, he hides his pain in order to let others fall into the same situation. By the same token, people who violate the precepts now try to hide their true colors; Although he claims to be sacred, this arrogant statement can only make him a more insidious liar. He is a follower of Satan, trampling on God's laws, and at the same time luring others to do the same, leading to their eternal destruction.
Eve did believe Satan's words, but her faith did not save her from the punishment of sin. She doesn't believe in the word of God, which is the reason why she has fallen. At the trial, the world was condemned, not because they sincerely believed in lies, but because they did not believe in the truth, because they ignored the opportunity to know the truth. No matter what Satan's sophistry is, disobedience to God is always a curse. We must make up our minds to know what truth is. All the lessons recorded by God in the Bible are to warn and guide us. These lessons are to keep us from being confused. If we ignore these lessons, we will bring our own destruction. Anything that contradicts the word of God, we can be sure that it comes from Satan.
The snake took the forbidden fruit and put it in Eve's hand, but Eve could not bear to accept it. So he told her to remember her words. God forbid them to touch the fruit, lest they die. He told Eve that he was not hurt after touching it, but he ate it. Eve didn't see any bad results from what she did, so she was bolder. She "saw that the fruit of the tree is good for food, pleasing to the eyes and making people wise, so she took the fruit and ate it." (Gen 3:6) The fruit is delicious. When she eats it, she seems to feel an upward force and think that she is entering a higher life state. So she picked the fruit and ate it without fear. Ever since Eve broke God's ban, she has become a tool for Satan to frame her husband. So in a very unnatural state of excitement, she went to Adam with the forbidden fruit in her hand and told him everything.
Adam's face suddenly looked sad and expressed surprise and panic. After listening to eve's words, he replied: this must be the enemy that god warned them to beware of; Eve must die because of God's judgment. Eve persuaded him to eat, and the snake said, They may not die. She reasoned that this statement must be true, because she didn't feel that God didn't like her, but felt happy and excited, and her whole body had a new life. She thinks this new life is given by an angel from heaven.
Adam saw that his partner had violated God's commandments and the only prohibition that tested their loyalty and love. So there was a fierce battle in his heart. He regretted not letting Eve leave him. Now that things have come to this, he must be separated from his favorite partner. But how could he have the heart to do so? Adam was with God and holy angels, and he saw the glory of the Creator. He also knows what a bright future human beings will have if they serve God faithfully forever. But at the thought of losing this gift, which he thought was more precious than anything else, he forgot all his blessings. Love, gratitude and loyalty to the creator were drowned by Eve's heart. Eve is a part of Adam's body, so he can't bear to be separated from her. Adam didn't think that God with infinite power could not only make him lively and beautiful from the dust, but also make him a spouse because he loved him. Similarly, it is possible to fill this vacancy. Adam finally decided to be interested in Eve; If she must die, he is willing to die with her. He thinks that what the clever snake said may be reliable. Then Eve stood before him, as beautiful as before she disobeyed God and as innocent as before. Then Eve told him that she loved him more than before. She showed no signs of death, so Adam decided to take a risk, regardless of the outcome, picked up the forbidden fruit and ate it quickly.
After Adam committed a crime, he initially thought he had entered a higher life. But soon he remembered his sin, and he was afraid. The warm air seems to make the guilty couple feel cold at this moment. All their love and peace in the past have disappeared, replaced by a sense of guilt, fear of the future and inner emptiness. The clothes of light that once surrounded them disappeared at this moment, so they tried to weave a cover for themselves; Because they can't see the faces of naked gods and holy angels.
Only then did they see the essence of their sin. Adam blamed his partner for leaving him so foolishly and being cheated by the snake; But they think that since God has shown them love in many ways in the past, they will be able to forgive this transgression. They don't think they will suffer the severe punishment they are afraid of.
But because of his success, he was overjoyed He lured women into disbelief in God's love, doubted his wisdom and violated his laws. So Adam also fell through her.
But the great legislators were about to announce the results of their crimes to Adam and Eve. God appeared in the garden. When they were innocent and holy, they greeted the creator with joy, but now they fled in fear and managed to hide in the depths of the garden. The Lord God called the man and said to him, Where are you? He said: I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; So I hid. And the Lord said, Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat the fruit from the tree that I told you not to eat? "(Gen 3:9- 1 1)
Adam could neither deny nor escape his sin; However, instead of expressing repentance, he tried to put the blame on his wife and God, saying, "You gave me the woman who lived with me, and she gave me the fruit from that tree, and I ate it." Adam made a deliberate decision. He would rather lose God's joy forever, his hometown in heaven and a happy life because of his love for Eve. But now, after his fall, he tries to blame his sins on his partner and further on the creator. This shows how powerful the power of sin is!
When a woman is asked, "What do you do?" She replied, "The snake seduced me and I ate it." "Why did you create a snake? Why did you allow it into the Garden of Eden? " That was a hint of her prevarication about her crime. In this way, like Adam, she blamed God for her depravity. Self-righteous psychology comes from the liar's father; Our ancestors had this mentality after succumbing to the temptation of Satan. And Adam's children and grandchildren all have the same temperament. Instead of humbly admitting their sins, they want to protect themselves and blame others, the environment or God-even blaming him on the pretext of God's blessing.
The Lord announced the judgment on snakes, saying, "Since you have done this, you will be cursed more than all livestock and wild animals. You will walk with your stomach and eat dirt all your life. "Since snakes are the media of Satan, they should be judged by God together. It used to be the most beautiful and enviable of all creatures in the field, but now it has become the meanest and most disgusting of all creatures; People and other animals fear and hate. God said to the snake, I will make enmity between you and the woman, and between you and your seed and the seed of the woman. A woman's offspring will hurt your head and you will hurt his heel. "These words are directly addressed to Satan, which indicates his final failure and destruction.
God told Eve that she would suffer more sadness and pain in her future life. God said, "You will long for your husband, and he will rule you." But when man was first created, God made her equal to her husband. If they always obey God-in line with his great and loving law-they will always live in equality and harmony with each other; However, sin brings an atmosphere of disharmony. Now, in order to maintain unity and harmony, one party must obey the other. Eve was the first person to take the lead in committing a crime. She disobeyed God's command, left her husband and fell into temptation. And because she instigated Adam to sin, God made her obey her husband's jurisdiction from now on. If the fallen human beings obey this judgment of crime and put the principles of God's law in their hearts, this judgment will be their blessing; However, husbands often abuse the great power given to them, which makes women's fate more bitter and life heavier.
It turned out that Eve lived a completely happy life with her husband in the Garden of Eden. But like many restless Eve in the 20th century, she was bewitched by Satan and hoped to rise to a higher position than God had arranged for her. Unfortunately, when she was striving for a higher position, she fell even lower. The same result will happen to modern women if they don't follow God's plan in their daily life with a happy mind. Many women give up their jobs that can benefit the people in order to reach the position that God has not prepared for them. When they pursue higher status, they sacrifice women's real dignity and noble character, and they don't do the work designated by God for them.
The Lord said to Adam, Because you have obeyed your wife and eaten the fruit of the tree which I commanded you not to eat, the earth will be cursed because of you. You will work hard all your life to get food from the ground. Thorns and thistles will grow for you, and you will eat the vegetables of the field. You will make a living sweating until you return to the ground; Because you came out of the ground; You are dust, and you will return to dust. "(Gen 3: 17- 19)
God doesn't want the innocent couple to know anything bad. God gave them a lot of good instead of evil. But they disobeyed his orders and ate the forbidden fruit. Now they must eat it all their lives, and they will have evil knowledge. (Translator's press: "Discrimination between Good and Evil". ) From then on, mankind must be tempted by Satan. The pleasant work assigned to them before has now turned into a sad and hard fate. They will suffer disappointment, sadness and pain, and finally they must die.
Under the curse of sin, everything will prove to people the essence and result of betraying God. When God created man, he made him rule the whole earth and all living things. As long as Adam is loyal to heaven, everything will be managed by him. But as soon as he broke God's law, those low-level animals rose up against his rule. In this way, with his great mercy, God showed the world the sanctity of his law, and through their own experiences, made them see what would happen if they deviated from the law, even a little.
After the crime, all the sadness and hard life are also arranged by God out of love. This is a necessary exercise for a person who has committed a crime, so that he can control his eating habits and sexual desire and help him develop independent habits. This is part of God's grand plan to restore mankind from evil corruption and depravity.
God's warning to our ancestors-"You will die on the day you eat." (Gen 2: 17) It doesn't mean that they will die the day they eat the forbidden fruit. It means that the irrevocable judgment will be announced on the same day. God promised them eternal life on condition of obedience; Because they violated the precepts, they will lose their lives forever. They were destined to die that day.
If people want to keep endless life, they must continue to eat the fruit of the tree of life. Otherwise, his vitality will gradually decrease until it is destroyed. Satan's plan is to make Adam and Eve disobey God and make God unhappy. In the future, if they are not forgiven, he hopes that they can continue to eat the fruit of the tree of life and live a sinful and painful life forever. But after the fall of mankind, God immediately sent a sacred angel to guard the tree of life. Around these angels, light shines like a burning sword. No one in Adam's family can cross the fence and pick the life-giving fruit; Therefore, there are no immortal sinners in the world.
Many people think that the crimes committed by our ancestors are so small and the disasters caused are so terrible. Therefore, when they see that God treats people like this, they doubt his wisdom and justice. But if they study the problem more deeply, they can see their mistakes. When there was no sin, God created man in his own image. He wants people who are second only to angels to spread all over the earth; But their obedience must be tested first, because God does not allow the world to be full of people who despise his laws. But God, out of his great mercy, did not give Adam a severe test. Since what is forbidden is easy to observe, the crime of violating this prohibition is even more serious. If Adam can't overcome the smallest test, if he is entrusted with a heavier responsibility, he can't stand the bigger test.
If Adam accepts a big experiment, then those who tend to be evil will have an excuse to say, "What I did wrong is a trivial thing, and God will not demand so much from small things." In this way, what ordinary people regard as trivial and not condemned can do whatever they want. But God has made it clear that sin, big or small, is abhorrent to him.
In Eve's view, it seems a trivial matter to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree and seduce her husband to commit crimes together. Who knows that their sins have opened the floodgates of disasters and harmed the whole world. At that moment of temptation, who knew that a wrong step would lead to such a terrible result?
Many people say that God's laws are invalid and it is impossible for people to abide by their rules. If this statement is credible, then why did Adam suffer the punishment of crime? The sins of our ancestors brought sin and anxiety to the world. Without God's mercy and mercy, mankind will fall into the abyss of despair forever. Don't deceive yourself, "the wages of sin are death." (Rom。 (6:23) Violating God's law cannot go unpunished. Today is exactly the same as when God first sentenced human ancestors to punishment.
After Adam and Eve sinned, they could no longer live in the Garden of Eden. They earnestly prayed to God to let them stay in their innocent and happy hometown. They admit that they have lost the right to live in that happy place and promise to obey God absolutely in the future. But God told them that their nature had been corrupted by sin, their ability to resist evil had weakened, and they opened the way for Satan to approach them more easily. When you are innocent, because you give in to temptation; Now, under the condition of conscious guilt, I can't keep my purity even more.
So they left their beautiful hometown with a sense of inferiority and unspeakable sadness and went to live in the land cursed by sin. Now all the warmth and regulated temperature in the atmosphere have changed significantly, so God has kindly prepared a leather coat for them to protect them from cold and heat.
When Adam and his partners first saw the signs of death in the withering of flowers and leaves, they were deeply saddened by it, which was even sadder than the world's mourning for the dead now. The delicate and charming flowers wither, which is enough to make people sad; But when the tree leaves, this phenomenon vividly makes people see a harsh fact; Death is the fate of all living things.
After mankind was driven out of heaven, the Garden of Eden stayed on the ground for a long time. (See Gen 4: 16) Fallen human beings still have to look to their innocent hometown, but the entrance is guarded by angels. The glory of God appeared at the gate of heaven guarded by the cherubim. Adam and his descendants often come here to worship God. They made a new Covenant here to keep God's law, and they were driven out of the Garden of Eden because they violated this law. When the evil flood flooded the whole land, and the evil of the world decided their doom to be destroyed by the flood, the God who planted the Garden of Eden took it back from the ground. But on the day of revival, when a new heaven and a new earth appeared, the Garden of Eden must be restored and decorated more beautifully than at first.
At that time, those who keep God's commandments will pick fruits from the tree of life. (see Rev. 2 7; 2 1: 1; 22: 14) Moreover, in the eternal years, those innocent residents will surely see a complete sample created by God in heaven, in which there is no evil or curse. This also shows how beautiful the whole earth will be if mankind completes the creator's glory plan from the beginning.
