What is the history of poetry?
Poetry first appeared in the history of literary development. In the period of art origin, poetry is often integrated with music and dance, and then poetry gradually develops into an independent art form. In ancient China, unhappy people were called poems and happy people were called songs. Now it's generally called poetry. China's earliest collection of poems is The Book of Songs, which was written in the Spring and Autumn Period from the early Western Zhou Dynasty (1 1 century BC) to the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period (6th century BC). Qu Yuan, the first outstanding poet in the history of China literature, wrote the earliest lyric poem Li Sao in ancient times. The Book of Songs is the source of China's realistic poetry, and Li Sao is the pioneering work of romantic poetry. The earliest western literary works were Homer's epics in ancient Greece, namely Iliad and Odyssey, which had a great influence on the development of later poetry.
