It is a theory jointly advocated by the first seven sons of Ming Dynasty, the last seven sons of Ming Dynasty and Shen Deqian of Qing Dynasty. It emphasizes the role of style in poetry creation. "Style" is rooted in Yan Yu, who believes that thoughts and feelings are the decisive factors of formal style.
It is argued that creation is beneficial to gentle and honest "poetry teaching" and there are works of "righteousness and harmony" that complement the world, so it belongs to the "style" with laws to follow and Tangyin as the standard. Therefore, his poetics has the color of maintaining feudal rule and is conservative to some extent.
But most of his creations are singing, singing and the like. On the other hand, he also advocated some beneficial viewpoints with aesthetic theoretical value, such as "implication", "interest in reason", the chemical realm of poetry, and attaching importance to the leading role of works.
