Su Manshu’s becoming a monk has a lot to do with his family. Su Manshu's father, Su Jaishank, was a businessman who came to Japan for business reasons. Although he already had a wife, he couldn't bear the loneliness and married a Japanese woman named Kawai Sen. But Su Manshu was born to Su Jaishankar and his wife's sister. People also gave such a child the name "Xiangzi". In order to avoid being judged by others, Jaishankar decided to take Su Manshu back to Guangzhou and send him to a private school. However, people's discrimination and ridicule in Guangzhou did not diminish. Su Manshu was discussed by adults and teased by children since he was a child. His tragic childhood background made his life extremely painful and paved the way for his later career as a monk.
Su Manshu has been a monk three times. The first time was when he was 12 years old. Su Manshu was taken to a temple in Guangzhou by chance because of an alms monk. However, due to Su Manshu's naughty nature, he violated the temple rules again and again, so he was kicked out by the abbot. Although the first visit to the temple was short-lived, it still planted the seed of Buddha in Su Manshu's heart. The second time was when he was 17 years old. Su Manshu's relationship with a woman was rejected by her family, resulting in the woman's death. Su Manshu was very sad about this, so he chose to become a monk. But he still couldn't bear the hardship in the temple and finally escaped. The third time, when he was 20 years old, his workplace was closed down due to his own reasons. Su Manshu was so ashamed of this that he became a monk again. This time he became a monk and Su Manshu truly began his Buddhist career.
Due to his status as an illegitimate child, Suman was sensitive and cowardly by nature, and later developed symptoms of mental illness. Even when he stayed at his teacher's house, he would do incredible things. Su Manshu once said: "Don't ask me about Qi Kuo's life and death. I am a solitary monk walking in the clouds and flowing water." Laughing wildly for no reason, crying for no reason, even if there is joy, the intestines are as cold as ice. ?In his mind, becoming a monk should be the best choice for him to escape from the trivial matters and distractions of the world.
