First, read more books. Daiyu asked Xiangling to read one hundred of Wang Wei's five-character poems, one or two hundred of Du Fu's seven-character poems and one or two hundred of Li Bai's seven-character quatrains. "Reading a poem a hundred times is self-evident", and this reading method is also very correct and necessary for us to learn to write poems. With the increase of reading articles, your language perception of poetry will become stronger and stronger, and your reading level of poetry will become higher and higher. It's like building a house. First, we must lay a good foundation. The stronger the foundation, the bigger the house can be built. Reading aloud is the basis of learning poetry well and the fundamental way to improve the ability of appreciation.
Secondly, Daiyu believes that if you want to learn poetry, you must learn first-class. Wang Wei's five-character poems are the best, and no one can catch up with him except Du Fu. If Du Fu scored 100 on the seven-character rhyme, I'm afraid it's impossible to find 80% again. Later, a Li Shangyin was ok. The seven-character quatrain means that no one can write better than Li Bai. Among these three people, Li Bai is a poet, Du Fu is a poet saint, and Wang Wei is called Shi Fo. They are the three most accomplished poets in the Tang Dynasty, and they have always been evaluated in this way. Later, Bai Juyi took Wang Wei's place, because some of his poems reflected the life and thoughts of the working class. His novels, such as Song of Eternal Sorrow and Pipa Xing, were all good, but they were always led by Li Bai, Du Fu and Wang Wei. Lin Daiyu's point of view is also correct. If you want to learn first class, you can become second class without learning first class. If you learn second-rate at first, you can only learn third-rate or fourth-rate. When reading, you should also choose works with both literary quality and beauty, which is very beneficial to cultivate sentiment and cultivate pure literary interest.
Third, we should boldly create and dare to imagine. Xiangling studies poetry, the first one, which means "the bright moon is in the sky" throughout. Therefore, Daiyu said that beginners read less poems and use indecent words, so they should be bold and imaginative. This is also quite right. Engels emphasized when commenting on the German poet Plato that "writing poetry must have bold imagination." It can be said that without imagination, there is no thinking in images, and there is no poetry. The process of thinking in images runs through rich artistic imagination from beginning to end, and bold imagination can make extremely ordinary life scenes glow with peculiar beauty and quality, which is refreshing.
In Lin Daiyu's view, the most important thing in writing poetry is conception, followed by rhetoric, and finally the format rules that bind poetry. She thinks that thinking should be deep, not shallow, and once she goes in, she can't get out.
