In the Heron Tower is a poem by Wang Zhihuan, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. The first two sentences of this poem are about natural scenery, but when you start writing, you will shrink Wan Li at your fingertips, so that you can have Wan Li at your fingertips. The last two sentences are freehand brushwork, surprisingly written, and philosophy is seamlessly integrated with scenery and situation. The poet's mind, under the shock of nature, has realized a simple and profound philosophy, which can urge people to abandon the superficial knowledge of complacency, climb high and look far, and constantly open up new and better realms.
Creative background:
This poem is one of the last six quatrains of Wang Zhihuan, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. Author Wang Zhihuan served as editor-in-chief in Hengshui County (now Hebei Province) of Jizhou in his early years, and was dismissed soon after being framed. Wang Zhihuan, who was less than 30 years old, lived a life of visiting relatives and friends. When writing this poem, Wang Zhihuan was only thirty-five years old.
However, according to the epitaph of Mr. and Mrs. Wang Zhihuan, Wang Zhihuan was born in four years (688), and later "made up the main book of Hengshui, Jizhou". When he married Li in the 10th year of Kaiyuan (722), he was still in Hengshui, and his term of office lasted until the 14th year of Kaiyuan (726). After that, he was dismissed from office and wandered around, while Wang Zhihuan was nearly forty years old.
Scholar Li Xi speculated that the stork tower was located in Zhou Pu, Pingyang County (now Puxian County, Shaanxi Province) and belonged to Jiangzhou, Wang Zhihuan's hometown. Therefore, this poem may have been written by Wang Zhihuan when he abandoned his official position and returned to his hometown. It was written from the 15th year of Kaiyuan (727) to the 29th year (74 1).
