Du Fu Listen to Yang's Song
The beauty's unparalleled song makes her white teeth independent. The whole hall was miserable and unhappy, and the sound was heard in Qingxuli.
There is a plain moon in Jiangcheng, and it is a clear night. An old man mourns his old age, and a strong man sheds tears.
The jade cup is lonely for a long time, and the golden tube is the sign of the maze. Don't tell me that the listener is tired and his stupidity and wisdom are all gone.
Outstanding men from ancient times would never wait for a confidant. I heard about Qin Qing in the past, and the whole world was attracted by it. Li Qi listened to An Wanshan playing the bamboo basket song
"Listening to An Wanshan playing the bamboo basket song"
Author: Li Qi
Nanshan cut bamboos into bamboo baskets. Leben came from Qiuci.
It is said that the tunes from Han Dynasty have become strange, and the barbarians from Liangzhou are playing them for me.
Neighbors sigh when they hear it, and visitors from far away shed tears when they are homesick.
The world understands listening but not appreciating, and comes and goes in the wind.
Withered mulberry trees and old cypresses are walking in the cold, while nine chicks are chirping and phoenixes are chirping randomly.
The dragons roar and the tigers roar, and the sound of thousands of springs coincides with autumn.
Suddenly it changes into Yuyang, and the yellow clouds are dull and the sun is dark.
The change of tone is like hearing the willow spring, and the flowers in the forest illuminate the new scene.
On New Year's Eve, candles are lit in the hall, and a glass of wine is played.
Notes:
1. Qiuci: present-day Kuqa County, Xinjiang.
2. Changbiao: It refers to the suddenness of music.
3. Yuyang Do: The name of the tune.
Translation:
Bamboos cut from Nanshan were made into bamboo poles.
This musical instrument originally came from Qiuci in the Western Region.
After it was introduced to the Central Plains, the tune became more novel.
An Wanshan, a Hu man from Liangzhou, played it for us.
Everyone in the neighborhood sighed after listening to the music.
The wanderers who left home all shed tears when they felt homesick.
The world only knows how to listen to the sound but not appreciate it.
It is just like the raging whirlwind that moves alone.
Like the rustling sound of old cypress trees shaken by the cold wind,
Like the nine young phoenixes chirping around the old mother.
It is like the roar of dragons and tigers roaring together,
It is like the roaring sounds of autumn mixed with hundreds of springs.
Suddenly the tone suddenly changed to Yuyangdou,
It was like yellow clouds covering the dim day.
The changeable tone seems to hear the spring of Yangliu,
The flowers in the Palace of Truth are refreshing.
On New Year's Eve, the high hall is lined with candles,
A glass of wine and a piece of sad music are heart-breaking.
Appreciation:
This poem is about hearing the Hu musician An Wanshan play the zither, and praised his superb acting skills. At the same time, he wrote that the sound of the zither was desolate, and the listener was sad. The first six sentences describe the origin of the zhen and the desolation of its sound; the middle ten sentences describe its changeable sound, from spring to autumn, like the roar of a phoenix or the roar of a dragon. The writer of the last two sentences is in a foreign land on New Year's Eve. Hearing this, he felt particularly lonely and miserable. When describing music, the poem not only uses the sound of birds, animals and trees as a comparison, but also uses synaesthetic techniques, using yellow clouds to cover the sun and flowers to illuminate the eyes to compare the gloom and brightness of the music, which is more unique than the previous poem. Midnight Wu Song·Autumn Song
Li Bai Midnight Wu Song Autumn Song
There is a moon in Chang'an, and the sound of thousands of households pounding their clothes.
The autumn wind never blows away, but there is always love.
On what day when the barbarians are defeated, a good man will stop his expedition.
Translation and annotations
The autumn moon is bright and the city of Chang'an is bright.
The sound of pounding clothes can be heard from every house.
No matter how much the autumn wind blows, the sound of the anvil cannot be stopped.
The sound always concerns the relatives of Yuguan.
When can the enemy be put down?
The husband can end his long journey.
1. Midnight Wu Songs: Wu-sheng songs from Yuefu in the Six Dynasties. "Tang Shu Yue Zhi": "Midnight Wu Song" is also a Jin song. There was a woman named Ziye in Jin Dynasty who made this sound, which sounded more like sorrow. "Yuefu Jieti": Later generations added a poem about enjoying the four seasons, which was called "Song of the Four O'clock at Midnight". Li Bai's "Midnight Wu Song" also sings about the four seasons. This is the third "Autumn Song". And it was expanded from the original five characters and four sentences to five characters and six sentences.
2. A piece of moon: a piece of bright moonlight.
3. Ten thousand households: Thousands of households. Clothes pounding: When washing clothes, place the clothes on the anvil stone and beat them with a stick.
4. Blow out: cannot be blown away.
5. Yuguan: Yumenguan. These two sentences say that the rustling autumn wind cannot dispel the sadness in my heart, but it only makes me miss the soldiers far away.
6. Ping Hu Lu: Ping down the enemies invading the border.
7. Beloved man: refers to the husband stationed at the border. Stop: end.
Appreciation
The whole poem is about the wife of her husband who was on an expedition, thinking about her beloved husband on an expedition to the frontier in the autumn night, hoping that the war would end soon and her husband would not have to leave home to go on an expedition.
Although it does not write about love directly, every word is permeated with sincere affection; although it does not talk about the current situation, it does not stray away from the current situation. The sentiment and interest are not divorced from the charm of frontier poems.
The capital city under the silvery moonlight is peaceful on the surface, but the sound of pounding clothes contains the pain of thousands of families; the constant autumn wind also expresses the deep feeling of longing for the borders. It's heart-pounding to read. The concluding sentence is the wife's expectation and Zhengren's heartfelt voice.
Generally speaking, the poet's technique is to use scene language first and then love language, and the scenes always blend together. "A Moon in Chang'an" depicts the scenery, and at the same time it closely follows the title, describing the seasonal characteristics of the bright autumn moon. Seeing the moon and cherishing people is a traditional expression method in classical poetry. In addition, autumn is the season of rushing to make clothes and collect clothes, so writing about the moon also has arousing significance. In addition, the moon is as bright as day, and it is just the right time to pound the clothes, but the jade curtain cannot be rolled away, and the moonlight that comes back from the anvil of the clothes can easily arouse the lovesickness of the missing woman. The cloth used for making clothes must first be placed on an anvil and pounded flat and soft with a pestle. This is called pounding clothes. On this bright moonlit night, the city of Chang'an was immersed in the sound of anvils and pestles, and this special autumn sound was an unbearable provocation to the missing woman. One area, ten thousand households, written in light and voice, seem to be right but not right, and the words are natural and have the flavor of chanting. The autumn wind can also make people feel melancholy. When the autumn wind blows in the window and the tents flutter, it is the third provocation to the missing woman. The moon is bright and the wind is clear, and the wind blows the anvil, and the sound is the deep feeling of remembering the people in Yuguan. Use the word "always" to express profound feelings and thoughts. Here, the autumn moon, the sound of autumn, and the autumn wind weave into a seamless realm. There are no people in sight, but the characters seem to be really there, and the love for the jade is also very strong. Wang Euzhi commented: The first four sentences are good sentences born in heaven and earth, and were picked up by Taibai. ("Selection of Tang Poems") This feeling is so strong that it cannot be contained, so the last two sentences directly express the feelings of missing the wife: When will the Huru be pacified, and the beloved will stop the expedition? Some people in later generations prefer to be subtle. For example, Tian Tongzhi once said: I thought that after deleting the last two sentences to make a quatrain, I felt that it was even more ambiguous. ("Xipu Shishuo") In fact, this may not be the case. I don’t know that the songs are wonderful, the tone is heartfelt ("Dazi Night Song"), the generosity and naturalness are the true nature of folk songs, and there is no need to deliberately use such hesitant terms. From the content point of view, as Shen Deqian pointed out, the love words of my girlfriend suddenly wish to stop the war ("Shuo Shi Xu Yu"), which greatly deepens the ideological content of the poem and makes it more socially significant, showing the ancient working people's desire to live in peace. Good wishes for life. The technique of the whole poem is like a movie, with pictures and voice-over. The moon shines on thousands of households in Chang'an, and the sound of anvils sent by the wind merges into the desolate and cold moonscape outside Yumen Pass. Interlude: When will the Hu barbarians be pacified, the good man will stop his expedition? This is a very meaningful poetic scene. Readers should be aware that this interlude, which is like a chorus of female voices, is by no means superfluous. It is an integral part of the painting, both outside and inside the painting. It is soul-stirring and exciting. Therefore, "Autumn Song" is written from the front to thoughts and feelings, and there is endless emotion. Song of the Sangha
Li Bai Song of the Sangha
The true monk’s Dharma name is Sangha, and he sometimes talks about three chariots with me. Asking questions and reciting the mantra thousands of times,
the sands of the Ganges will return to the sands. This monk originally lived in southern Tianzhu, but came to this country for Fa Toutuo.
If the sky is long and the moon is bright in autumn, your heart will be as green as the green lotus in the world. The meaning is pure and the appearance is sharp.
Neither decrease nor increase. There are thousand-year-old iron pillar bones in the bottle, and long-lived Husun ??vines in the hands.
I have been in decline for a long time in Jianghuai, and I rarely meet true monks who say that there is nothing. With one word, all the parasi were dispersed,
I bowed again to remove any minor offenses.
