Tang Yin (1470-1522), also known as Bohu, was a master of poetry, calligraphy and painting in the Ming Dynasty. He was born into a merchant family. His father hoped that he would pass the imperial examination and become an official in order to honor his family, but he was full of contempt for this. After his father's death, he became even more unruly. One day, in order to vent his "anti-trend" sentiments, he and Zhang Ling, a scholar from the same place, exposed themselves and played in the "Pan Shui" of the academy in broad daylight. The Academy was the Temple of Confucius and the place where instructors worked in the feudal era. Panshui is the pool of the Academy, with a solemn and sacred atmosphere. Their behavior can be described as disrespectful and immoral.
He was proud of his talent and believed that it was easy to win the exam. He only needed to study behind closed doors for a year to win Jieyuan (first place in the provincial examination). Later, inspired by his friend Zhu Yunming (the famous talent Zhu Zhishan), he studied hard for a year and took the provincial examination, and he passed the Xie Yuan examination. During the examination the following year, he was implicated in cheating by a candidate in the same examination room and was imprisoned. Tang Bohu had no intention of making progress from then on, and entertained himself with poetry, calligraphy, painting, and wine. He lived a dissolute life and even visited a hospital. However, he still thought highly of himself and carved a seal calling himself "the most talented man in the south of the Yangtze River." This poem "Yan Zhi" describes his situation and mentality:
If you don't refine elixirs, you won't meditate; if you don't work for merchants, you won't plow the fields.
When you have time to write, just buy it from Qingshan, and don’t make money to do evil in the world.
After middle age, he was full of distress due to the ups and downs he experienced, so he turned to Buddhism to seek sustenance. The poem "Sighing the World" shows his outlook on life at this time:
Everything is determined by God. Don't force it, so why bother using tricks.
If you have three meals to eat, you will always be satisfied.
How long does it take to cause trouble, and how long does it take to stop causing harm to everyone?
It is better to dissolve enemies than to make enemies. Let each of us look back and look at the future.
In his later years, his life was quite poor, as evidenced by poems:
He was in a coma due to the hardships of ten dynasties, and his eight wives took away their wives and complained of hunger.
The letter is because God is playing tricks on me. No one comes to buy the fan-head poems.
Down and out, he quietly died of illness at the age of 54. Before his death, he wrote this last poem:
If you are born in the world of the world and have an end, there is no harm in returning to the underworld after death.
The earth and the underworld are all similar, just like wandering in a foreign land.
Pan Taihu Lake
There are vast and endless waves in the area, and the lake is full of green light.
Looking at the dots of green mountains, the cold sky invades and the sky becomes white.
Fang Yi has been gone for thousands of years, and it is especially popular among Gaoyun people in recent times.
The rise and fall of Wu and Yue were paid by the flowing water, leaving the empty moon to shine on the Dongting boat.
Analysis: This poem describes the vast and beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake, thus eliciting my admiration for Fan Li's Gao Feng who retired after success. The first four lines of this short poem use oblique rhyme to describe the scenery of the lakes and mountains, which are very harmonious and appear clear and beautiful. The last four lines use flat rhyme to describe Fan Li's escape to the five lakes, expressing his nostalgia for the past and the present, which seems to have eternal meaning. long.
"Song of Peach Blossom Temple"
In Taohuawu, there is a Peach Blossom Temple, and under the Peach Blossom Temple, there is a Peach Blossom Fairy;
The Peach Blossom Fairy grows peach trees and picks peach blossoms to sell for wine money.
When you are sober, you just sit in front of flowers, but when you are drunk, you come to sleep under flowers;
Half-awake and half-drunk day after day, flowers fall and bloom year after year.
I hope that I will die in old age among the flowers and wine, and do not want to bow in front of the chariot and horse;
The chariot and the horse are enough for the rich, and the wine-gold branch is for the poor.
If you compare the rich and the poor, one is on the ground and the other is in the sky;
If you compare the poor to a chariot and a horse, he has to drive and I have nothing to do.
Others laugh at me for being crazy, but I laugh at others because they can’t see through it;
There are no tombs of heroes from the Five Tombs, and there are no flowers and no wine to cultivate the fields.
Appreciation
Tang Bohu, a generation of talented people, was famous for his literary works. He laughed and cursed, and all of them became articles. Flowers fell and water flowed, and everything was natural. Those who regard chariots, horses, dignitaries as dust, and those who branch winegolds as celestial beings have their own pride. Whether you are crazy or crazy, you can sit alone among the flowers, drink and pour yourself, and you will have your own style.
