In other words, Noah, the great ancestor of mankind, jumped into his eyes. I have been reading the Bible before, and I have always paid less attention to Noah than Adam and Eve, Abraham and Isaac. I always feel that Noah built an ark and was drunk naked. There is nothing to chew on just a few things. However, I read Genesis 6: 14: "You shall build an ark of gopher wood, room by room, and coat it with rosin inside and outside." This poem stopped my eyes.
1. Building one room at a time is the grace and wisdom of God.
When I imagined how to build the ark, there was no picture in my mind, because I knew nothing about the manufacturing (shipbuilding) industry, but "building one room at a time" made up my blank. "One room, one room" vividly shows that the Ark is a structured product. It is different from that kind of canoe, but a fine systematic project. There must be detailed drawings, otherwise God only needs to say "You build an ark". Although Noah was a righteous man, he was not necessarily a craftsman. Therefore, after the requirement of "building one room at a time", God explained to him the manufacturing method of the ark in detail-and then in Genesis 6: 15- 16, he clearly explained the length, width and height of the ark and its layering. At the same time, it also explains the requirements for accommodating animals.
1. God's prepared grace ensured the manufacture of the ark.
Gefeimu used to build the ark is no ordinary wood. This is the top variety of cedar. Wood is very strong and hard to get, and it is not easy to get until now, only in a few areas of Lebanon. With the huge ark, it is difficult to estimate the number of Griffith needs. Even so, God is ready for Noah, so it can be seen that God's grace is beyond what we ask and think. When we do things for God, just do it with confidence and boldness, because God has prepared the people and goods we need. Some people will say that Gefeimu may be extremely rare now, and it may be common in Noah's time. I think it is possible, but even so, Noah's logging and pruning work is expensive. Without God's help, it would really be "logging fatigue"!
Using Gefeimu requires a lot of rosin. The scripture says "wipe inside and outside", which shows that the rosin recorded should refer to the resin of pine trees, not the solid rosin. Turpentine is highly viscous, insoluble in water and has medicinal value. When smeared on the cabinet beam, it can fill the gap, avoid moisture and water leakage, and prevent insects and moth. Turpentine oil becomes rosin after coating and curing, which has a high ignition point and can also play a role in fire prevention. Although rosin is not as expensive as Gefeimu, God does not require it to be from Gefeimu, and rosin from other pine trees can also be used, but the overall amount is available and it is also very laborious to prepare. However, we can imagine that God prepared all these precious Gefeimu for Noah, and these turpentine is not a matter of God's word.
2. God chose human wisdom to bring out Noah's obedience.
Before the ark was built, someone may have made it with tools, but it should be the first time for a big girl to get on a sedan chair for such a big project. Noah was not so embarrassed as the big girl, but obeyed God's will and took over the project of this system, as the scripture says, "Noah did this. He did everything God told him. (Gen 6:22) "You are fine, you are fine! From 14 to 2 1, it is all about God himself, and there are commands and covenants. Noah didn't even record singing. In connection with the above, it can be seen that God's determination to flood the world is unshakable. The subtext is: "Noah, just listen and do as I say." Noah listened so carefully, did he want to object? I think, first of all, he didn't dare. As a mortal, he didn't dare to be an enemy of God when he was angry. Secondly, as a "perfect man", he will never go against God. Most importantly, if you have the experience of listening carefully, you can certainly understand Noah's heart. God is talking about an unprecedented miracle, and Noah has never heard of it before, so he must listen carefully and remember everything God says carefully without any mistakes. You can't be distracted in this state of concentration.
This thing is too big and this job is too difficult. I won't. I can't do it. These are common rejections of our common people, and I took them away with the hearts of ordinary people. Noah could have said the same thing, because building the ark itself is a big event, and it may not be enough to rely on people's life to invest. But Noah didn't say anything and didn't refuse. Besides Noah's obedience, the wisdom of God's speech is also obvious. He first said, "build an ark one by one," so that Noah could accept it, and then God explained the specific style of building the ark. In this way, "building one room at a time" is more acceptable than "building a huge ark at a time".
Of course, God has promised him to save his family and descendants, and Noah has no other thoughts. Noah is a man. It is impossible to hear that God is going to destroy the world without thinking about the result of his family. However, God has already made preparations to make him a chosen person, to give him salvation and get rid of the result of destruction. This can correspond to the salvation of Jesus in the New Testament.
Thus, Noah's obedience is not only his own essential character, but also from God's preparation and wisdom!
Second, the application and thinking of one room and one building in life
Building one room at a time attracts me to meditate. The second reason is that there are many similar applications in life.
One of the students in the class can't sit still. Generally speaking, she is inattentive. She often has to change the posture of doing homework to stimulate herself, but she tries to overcome it. One day, she suddenly said to me: Mr. Bao, I will approve this question before I finish it. This is actually a good idea. I don't know if she has done it before, or if she has been instructed by a teacher. At that moment, I thought she was bold and wise, because she risked being criticized by the teacher, knew her own problems clearly and found a suitable method. I'm glad she said so, so she agreed. After that, she did a lot of homework, batch by batch. Of course, this problem refers to a big problem. Slowly, I will ask her to do one thing at a time, or two questions at a time. She will give me real feedback and do what she can. If she can't do it, she will tell me that she doesn't want to do it. I also let her go and didn't criticize her. Because she works hard and trusts me, I also have the patience to guide and help her. Even the "perfect" Noah's Ark needs to be built room by room, not to mention the "imperfect" students.
Contact with life, proverbs and wisdom we use, and some famous philosophical sayings all use this sentence pattern. For example, we should eat rice bit by bit, walk step by step, plough piece by piece, do things one by one, and write things one by one. ...
When I was coding, my colleague HR threw me a form on the nail and asked me to fill it out. Between words, I can feel her irritability, others are enjoying the relaxation of the last weekend, and she has to deal with various forms and documents. But I found that "things should be done one by one" can be extended to "things can be done one by one with others (let others help you)". I'm sure Noah didn't build an artificial ark. At least Noah's wife, son and daughter-in-law must help him. Rationally speaking, it is impossible for two or three generations to build an ark. So we can get inspiration from our own work: don't work alone, we should have our own partners to work together.
The story of Noah's Ark is very similar to the story of China Gong Yu moving mountains. We can even give this story a very China name "Noah's Ark". However, the biggest difference between the two stories is the manifestation of divinity and the lack of divinity. Noah built the ark because of God's arrangement, and stupid people only built it for their own needs. Noah can hold God's thigh, and fools can only rely on manpower. The biggest difference is that God has a complete plan, knows the goal, process and result of the development of things, and can call God when encountering difficulties, while Yu Gong has a goal, but he can only calculate where to dig, and there is no overall systematic plan. Therefore, we can get another inspiration from our work: besides covering our heads, we still have to rely on God to make a complete plan for our work and life. Then all we have to do is not ask God what he thinks. We were guided by God and everything went well.
There are many things Noah can think about. Let me look to God and ask God to give me wisdom so that I can get close to God by entering Noah!
