Why is compassion human nature?

Our sympathy has always been there. Old people dare not help when they fall, and dare not lend a helping hand when they see the suffering of the weak. All this is endless. It's not that I don't want to, but I don't dare. I'm afraid I'll get into trouble and endanger myself. This is obviously that "self-love" has gained the upper hand and "compassion" has been greatly suppressed. I have to say that there are reasons for these concerns. The crisis of trust between people and the risk of action always lead us to be indifferent, but this is not the reason why we lose our "compassion" as the basis of our life.

No one wants to live in an environment with low moral standards, and no one wants to lend a helping hand when he is in pain. People have one heart, and the heart has the same reason. As Mencius said: "No compassion is inhuman; No shame, no humanity; It is inhuman to have no resignation; There is no right or wrong, which is inhuman. " Without compassion, individuals can't be a "human" society, and human society can't be a human society. Compassion is pity, sympathy and care for the weak, and it is a noble feeling in human nature. Self-love pays more attention to self-interest. Everyone looked at the fire on the other side with indifference, everyone was silent, everyone was supreme, and others were dreaming. How can the world work well? If human society wants to run well, it obviously needs the support of people with noble feelings!

Rousseau believes that there are two innate natural emotions in human kindness, namely, self-love and compassion. Self-love is a primitive, inherent and naturally occurring desire. In order to survive, it comes before everything else. Compassion can expand people's self-love to love others and mankind, thus producing kindness, tolerance and humanity. He proposed that the kindness and rationality of self-love and compassion have the educational function of anti-asceticism, and also provide a theoretical basis for education to obey nature.

He particularly emphasized the important role of "conscience" in being kind to others. Rousseau sincerely believes that conscience is "the eternal sound of divine instinct", and the core content of conscience is "self-love" and "love". This kindness is reflected in people's hope to enjoy their own happiness with their compatriots' EPP, sympathy and pity for the suffering people, protection for the oppressed people, and anger at unfair violence.

Qu Yuan, who is loyal to the monarch and patriotic, is a model! Take a long breath to hide your tears and mourn the hardships of people's lives. I'm easy to fix! I'm in the cellar. I'll replace it at night. This is not only for Yu, but also for Yu Xin's kindness. Although he died nine times, he did not regret it. Although it has been changed at dusk, I have no regrets, and it is difficult to lose people's livelihood. Qu Yuan loves himself completely, but he doesn't feel sorry for himself. His compassion sublimated into great love for the country and the people, even if he died!

All men are created equal, and barbarians exercise their courage and alertness in bad living environment. In order to protect his life, his intelligence gradually improved, initially showing his free and active qualifications. When he realizes freedom by feedback, his willpower or choice will secretly take root under the spirituality of the mind, and people are born with the ability of self-improvement. This ability is first manifested in the satisfaction of desire obtained by relying on intelligence and the resulting "self-love". Secondly, this ability is manifested in the "compassion" formed by "self-love" in human nature. On the one hand, "compassion" and "self-love" are inseparable, and "compassion" extends from oneself to others under the action of "self-love"; On the other hand, "compassion" and "self-love" compete with each other. Compassion is a natural feeling, which can relieve everyone from caring only about their own self-love, thus contributing to the mutual preservation of the whole mankind. In the "natural state", the coordination of "self-love" and "compassion" is conducive to the inheritance of human pure nature and the maintenance of good morality. From On Inequalities, we can see that compassion, as an extension of self-love, comes from self-love, which comes from the rationality of saving lives, so both of them come from rationality. "Compassion", as a force to contend with self-love, is the foundation to maintain human kindness and morality. So, here, it seems that it can be inferred that morality is based on reason.
