2. "The Master Staying at Furong Mountain in the Snow" Tang Dynasty: Liu Changqing
At dusk, the mountains are far away, the weather is cold and the white house is poor.
Chaimen hears dogs barking, and people return home on a snowy night.
Translation:
The dusk is dim, and the mountain road ahead feels far away. The weather is cold and the ground is freezing, and I feel that I am staying in a poor house.
Suddenly I heard the barking of a Chaimen dog, which must be the owner returning home on a snowy night.
3. "Looking at the Remaining Snow in Zhongnan" Tang Dynasty: Ancestor Ode
Zhongnan has beautiful yin ridges and snow-covered clouds.
The forest is bright and clear, and the city is getting colder at dusk.
Translation:
Looking to the south, the North Mountain is beautiful, covered with white snow, like floating clouds.
It was clear after the snow, and the afterglow of the setting sun shone between the treetops. In the evening, the city of Chang'an became a bit colder.
4. "Heavy Night Snow" Song Dynasty: Lu You
The north wind blows snow at the beginning of the fourth watch, Jiarui Tianjiao and the New Year's Eve. Half of the Tusu lamp has not yet been lifted, and peach symbols are written on the grass in front of the lamp.
Interpretation:
At the beginning of the fourth watch, the north wind brings a heavy snow; this auspicious snow given to us by God arrives just on New Year's Eve, which is a sign of the coming year. Good harvest. Before I could raise the half-filled cup of Tusu wine to celebrate, I was still writing the peach charms to welcome the Spring Festival in cursive script under the lamp.
5. "Spring Snow" Tang Dynasty: Han Yu?
There is no youth in the new year, and I was surprised to see grass buds in early February. The white snow is too late for spring, so it flies through the trees in the garden.
Interpretation:
The New Year has arrived, but there are no fragrant flowers yet. It was not until February that I was pleasantly surprised to find new shoots of grass sprouting. Bai Xue also thought that spring came too late, so she deliberately turned into flowers and flew among the trees in the courtyard.
