From MJ's 1991 album "Dangerous". The lyrics of this song are from a poem in MJ's collection of prose poems "Dream Dance". The beginning of the arrangement quotes 67 seconds of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and Andrae Crouch Singers sang background chorus for the song.
This song later became the theme song of the movie "Free Willy". MJ performed a gospel-tinged "Will You Be There" live at the MTV 10th anniversary celebration party. There are two versions of the MV for this song. One is a combination of MTV's 10th anniversary live version of "Will You Be There" and some clips from the Dangerous world tour. Another version is a combination of the live version of "Will You Be There" from the Dangerous World Tour and the highlights from the movie "Free Willy".
