The "Double Jewels" in the History of Chinese Poetry

"Yuefu Double Wall" refers to the most outstanding folk narrative poems in ancient my country, "Peacock Flies Southeast" and "Mulan Poetry". "The Peacock Flies Southeast" is the first full-length narrative poem in the history of Chinese literature, and together with "Mulan Poetry" is one of the two masterpieces of Yuefu. It is based on a marriage tragedy that occurred in Lujiang County (now part of Anhui Province) during the reign of Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Originally a folk song, it may have been processed and polished by later generations of literati. "Poetry of Mulan" is a long narrative folk song from the north of my country during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. It tells the story of Mulan, who disguised herself as a man, joined the army on her father's behalf, fought on the battlefield, returned to the court in triumph, received a title for her meritorious service, resigned from office and returned home. It is full of legend.
