Writing background of questions and answers in Li Bai's landscape poems

Li Bai's question and answer in the mountains

I asked what I meant by living in the blue mountains, but I laughed without answering my heart.

Peach blossoms are opening, and it is another world.

The writing age and background of this poem are controversial. There are three major versions:

First, in the fifteenth year of Kaiyuan (AD 727), Li Bai promised his teacher to marry his granddaughter soon after he came to Anlu. So he lives in Bishan, studying and making. At this time, among his relatives and friends, he was young, lived in seclusion, did not seek official advancement, but did not agree with him. So in the spring of the seventeenth year of Kaiyuan, he wrote this poem and expressed his feelings at that time in the form of question and answer.

2. In 754 AD, 54-year-old Li Bai came to Huangshan and wandered between Huangshan and its surrounding mountains and green waters. In the 14th year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (AD 755), the poet came to Taohuatan and Chaji at the invitation of the local Wang Lun. Wang Lun was a descendant of Hua Wang, the King of Yue. (Chaji Village began in 676 AD. After ChaWenxi, a descendant of Zhou Wenwang, retired, Chadi moved from Jiyang County to Chaji, which was later named Chaji Village. Later generations Cha Wenxi visited Guan Yu, and Li Bai happily wrote a question and answer in the mountains. The local people carved it in the stone gate of Qinglong Mountain, and now the traces of this poem are faintly visible.

Third, in the present Wuhu Xiaogeli Natural Scenic Area, it is located in the south of Nanling County, 35 kilometers away from the county seat. Adjacent to the 3 18 national highway, it is a scenic spot with convenient transportation, with a total area of nearly 10 square kilometers. With lush trees, good vegetation, abundant animal and plant resources and exotic flowers and grasses everywhere, it is the only remaining primitive secondary forest in the same latitude of the earth. There are ups and downs here, facing the ancient Bishan Mountain, which generally refers to two places called Bishan Mountain on the east and west sides of Huangshan Mountain: Bishan Township in yi county and the mountain on the side of Taiping Luocun Village. Li Bai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, longed to live here, leaving a famous poem "Questions and Answers in the Mountain", which was praised by the poet as beautiful scenery.

It is not difficult to see that the basis is nothing more than Li Bai's poem "Bishan" and Li Bai's activity place at that time. Anlu has green hills, Huangshan has green hills, and there is no contest between ancient and modern names.

Before Li Bai's recommendation, he "concealed his life with wine" and once said that he "concealed customs". Recommended by Li Bai, he dedicated himself to Hanlin. Less than two years later, he was forced to resign and leave Beijing. During this period, he wandered in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, including Huangshan Mountain, "traveling all over the world and adapting himself to poetry and wine." In terms of activity time, both make sense.

Therefore, in the absence of stronger empirical evidence, there is no debate about why.

Besides, when we look at Tang poetry, we can easily find that the word "Bishan" is often used by Li Bai. "If you want to fly, go to Bishan's house." This refers to Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi Province. "I don't feel any change, although the mountains are getting dark and the sky is overcast in autumn." This refers to Mount Emei in Sichuan. "Walking down the blue mountain in the evening, the moonlight will escort me home." This refers to Zhong Nanshan in Shaanxi. "Thousands of rock bonfires are connected to the sea, and the flags on both sides of the strait surround Bishan." This refers to the Beigushan Mountain in Jiangsu. It can be seen that Li Bai's "Castle Peak" refers to a beautiful, pure and clean land.
