The first two sentences use simple strokes to outline the unique scenery of Jiangnan water town for readers. Bridges and flowing water, village pavilions and green duckweeds in the south of the Yangtze River are integrated into an ink painting. The last two sentences lead to Fan Chengda, a patriotic poet who lives in seclusion in Shihu, living in a corner with mountains and water, which shows the author's understanding and support for Fan Chengda's ambition.
Speaking of this poem, we should first understand Fan Chengda, who Jiang Kui visited. Fan Chengda, whose real name is Intelligent, is from Wujun (Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province). Shaoxing Jinshi, worked as some local officials, and participated in politics (deputy prime minister) for two months. After six years in Dalu (1 170), as an envoy, he went to the Jin Dynasty to discuss state affairs. He fought tirelessly and was almost killed. Xichun nine years (1 182), retired to his hometown of Shihu. His ambition to serve the country cannot be realized, and his sympathy for the people's sufferings and helplessness constitute the theme of his poetry creation. Especially in the latter half of his life, he created very distinctive pastoral poems, full of passion for life, which is an excellent chapter in Song poetry. He is good at writing quatrains, and his poetic style is beautiful and delicate.
Jiang Kui lost his parents in childhood and spent his adolescence at Hanyang's sister's house. He likes music, literature and calligraphy. As an adult, he tried many times, traveled everywhere and lived the life of a diner and chief of staff. He was worried about the country and the people, expressed dissatisfaction with the politics at that time, and supported Xin Qiji's cause of resisting the rulers of the Jin Dynasty. In the third year of filial piety in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 176), Baishi passed by Yangzhou, which had been destroyed twice by Jin Bing, and saw a broken well and a broken wall, which were deeply integrated and wrote the score and lyrics of the famous Yangzhou Slow. Hefei was also ravaged by the golden army, and Baishi wrote "Desolate Offender" here, reflecting the desolate scene of "the border town is separated by cables". These works are not only artistic creations, but also real historical materials. Baishi was in a state of ambivalence all his life. He is tired of the life of aides, but he is attached to the ruling clique everywhere, nostalgic for the narrow and empty life, so melancholy and desolation have become the characteristics of his music and literary creation.
