"Macau" is the first of a group of poems "Song of the Seven Sons" written by Wen Yiduo in March 1925 while studying in the United States. The remaining six articles are "Hong Kong", "Taiwan", "Weihaiwei", "Guangzhou Bay", "Kowloon" and "Lushun, Dalian". The poet uses personification to compare these seven "lost lands" to seven children who are far away from their mother's arms. In the tone of children, they cry out that they were forced to leave their mother's swaddling clothes, were bullied by foreign races, and longed to return to their mother's arms. .
