Li Dongyang was a poet and official in Ming Dynasty. He was born in Chaling, Hunan Province, and is a representative of Chaling Poetry School. Chaling Poetry School was a literary school in Hongzhi and Zhengde years of Ming Dynasty (1488- 152 1). Li Dongyang is the principal of the school, and its main members are Xie Qian, Li Mengyang, He Jingming, Wang Shizhen, Li Panlong, Xu Zhonghang, Liang Youyu, Gu Qilun and Yang Meng.
