1. "Five Poems on Lisi·Four"
Tang Dynasty: Yuan Zhen
Once upon a time, the sea was difficult to overcome, except for Wushan, it was not a cloud.
Looking back lazily at Huacong, I am half destined to practice Taoism and half destined to be a king.
Translation:
If you have been to the sea, you will not care about the water elsewhere; except for Wushan, the clouds elsewhere will not be called clouds. I walked through the flowers in a hurry, not bothering to look back. The reason for this is partly because of the asceticism of the monks, and partly because of the you I once had.
2. "Reminiscences of Shandong Brothers on September 9th"
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
A stranger in a foreign land, he misses his family even more during festive seasons .
I know from afar that my brothers have climbed to a high place, and there is one less person planting dogwood trees everywhere. ?
Translation:
I am far away from my hometown alone and unable to reunite with my family. Every Double Ninth Festival, I miss my relatives far away even more. When I think of my brothers wearing dogwoods and climbing to high places, I feel regretful because I am missing.
3. "Acacia"
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
Red beans grow in the southern country, and a few branches will appear in spring.
I hope you will pick more of them, this is the most loved thing.
Translation:
The bright red and round red beans grow in the sunny south. In the spring season, how many more are produced? I hope those who miss me will collect more. The little red beans will make people miss me.
4. "Jin Se"
Tang Dynasty: Li Shangyin
The Jin Se has fifty strings for no reason, each string and one column reflects the past. Zhuang Sheng was obsessed with butterflies in his dawn dream, and looked forward to the emperor's spring heart with cuckoos.
The moon in the sea has tears, and the sun in Lantian is warm and the jade produces smoke. This feeling can be recalled later, but it was already at a loss.
Translation:
The Se originally had twenty-five strings, but this poem was written after the death of Li Shangyin’s wife, so fifty strings means broken strings. But even so, every string and every syllable is enough to express my longing for those beautiful years. Zhuang Zhou actually knew that he was just a butterfly longing for freedom. Emperor Wang's beautiful heart and deeds can move Du Juan.
The shadow of the bright moon in the sea is like a pearl turned from tears. Only in the Lantian at that time and place can good jade be produced like smoke. Those beautiful things and times can only remain in memories. At that time, those people thought that those things were just normal, but they didn't know how to cherish them.
5. "Bu Shuanzi·I live at the head of the Yangtze River"
Song Dynasty: Li Zhiyi
I live at the head of the Yangtze River, and you live at the end of the Yangtze River. I miss you every day without seeing you, and drink water from the Yangtze River every day. ?
When will this water stop, and when will this hatred end? I only hope that your heart will be like mine, and I will live up to my love.
Translation:
I live in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and you live at the bottom of the Yangtze River. I miss you day and night, but I can't see you. You and I... drink the same green water from the same river, and we love each other and know each other. When will the endless river dry up, and when will the bitter hatred of separation cease. I only hope that your heart will stay as strong as mine, and you will not let down my infatuated love.
