Why did Fang Buting go to Taipei?
Fang Buting went to Taipei because he accepted the appointment of the president of Taipei Branch. Fang Buting is a character in No War in Peiping. He is Fang Meng 'ao's father and the president of Beiping Branch of the Central Bank. He studied in America, with a developed mind and a thunderous wrist. Knowing that political struggle is bloodthirsty, he doesn't believe that class revolution will succeed, so he just wants to protect himself in troubled times and avoid hurting his family. In the play, the relationship between Fang Buting and Ao is tense due to misunderstanding and contradiction. However, in order to protect his family, Fang Buting accepted the appointment of Taipei Branch and left Beiping for Taipei by plane with his family.
