Confession poems in Europe and America

From "I would like to be a torrent", this poem is a lyric poem written by Hungarian poet Petfi Sándor at 1847, dedicated to lovers.

The original "I would like to be a torrent":

I'd rather be the rapids,

A river in the mountains,

On the rugged road,

Pass over the rocks ...

As long as my lover

This is a small fish,

In my waves

Swim around happily.

I'd rather be a barren forest,

On both sides of the river,

For a gust of wind,

fight bravely ...

As long as my lover

It's a bird,

In my dense

Make a nest and sing among the branches.

I would like to be a ruin,

On the steep rocks,

This silent destruction

Doesn't make me depressed. ...

As long as my lover

It's green ivy,

Along my desolate forehead,

Climb up intimately.

I'd rather make a cabin,

At the bottom of the ravine,

On the top of the hut

Be struck by wind and rain ...

As long as my lover

Is a lovely flame,

In my stove,

Blink slowly and happily.

I want to be a cloud,

This is a broken gray flag.

In the vast sky,

Wandering around lazily,

As long as my lover

A coral sunset,

Beside my pale face,

Show a bright luster.

2. Creative background:

1846 In September, 23-year-old Petofi met Sendley Yuria, the daughter of Count Naudts, at the dance, and fell in love with this girl at first sight. But the count refused to marry his daughter to a poor poet like petofi. In the face of resistance, petofi is still obsessed with Julia maesa's love, and wrote one love poem after another in half a year. 1June 847, the relationship between the poet and Julia maesa took a turn for the better, so the poet lit the flame of passion and true love, issued his own love oath and wrote this poem. This poem was written during the period when the poet was in love with Julia maesa, and it was a poem expressing his love for himself.
