Appreciation of Dang Huaiying’s Ci Poems

The author expressed his extraordinary broad mind by reciting the ancient legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl.

"The clouds are walking on the waves" is an allusion. Cao Zhi wrote in "Ode to the Goddess of Luo" that "the waves are moving slightly, the socks are dusty", which depicts the lightness and elegance of the Goddess of Luo. The author uses Luo to describe beauty, and the picture of a beautiful woman traveling is eye-catching. Is it a lady's spring outing? no! "Nian Nian Xing Han" writes that her travels are like those of the Weaver Girl, getting together with her sweetheart once a year on the Chinese Valentine's Day. "Qingqiu" points out the tranquility of the surrounding environment, and "step" means keeping the promise. Here, although the poet does not directly describe the beauty of the Weaver Girl, the reader will still be aware of the woman's peerless fertility, her graceful figure, and her deep love for her lover. The legend of the reunion of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl on the Chinese Valentine's Day is widely spread in my country and is known to all women and children.

Yin Yun of the Southern Dynasties wrote in "Novel" (cited in "Yue Ling Guangyi. July Ling"): "There is a Weaver Girl in the east of the Tianhe River, the son of the Emperor of Heaven. Year after year, she works and rests, weaving clouds and brocade into the sky. His clothes and appearance were not perfect. The emperor took pity on him and promised to marry the Cowherd in Hexi. After the marriage, he was dismissed and ordered to return to Hedong, but the "bird magpie" had already met once a year in the Han Dynasty. There is a saying that "filling the river into a bridge and crossing the Weaver Girl" allowed the couple to meet (Chen Yuanliang's "Sui Shi Guang Ji" Volume 26 quoted from "Huainan Zi"). Zhou Chu's "Records of Fengtu" records: "On the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, on the night of the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, we spread the wine in the courtyard, and served a few banquets of wine and preserved fruits. We spread fragrant powder on the banquet to pray for the river drum and the Weaver Girl. It is said that these two stars will meet, ... Anyone who sees it will worship and beg for wealth and longevity. "The seventh day of July was regarded as an auspicious day in ancient times. If you pray on this day, all your wishes will be fulfilled. Therefore, women pray to the Weaver Girl at night. Qiqiao (begging for dexterity), Qixi Festival is called Qiaoqiao Day, and July is called Qiaoyu. Wealthy families often build colorful buildings in their courtyards, which are called Qiqiao buildings. In the third and fourth sentences, the poet uses "only fate" and "bottom function" to deny worldly views. He believes that the reason why the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd only meet once a year is due to her "excellence".

That is to say, he married the Cowherd because of his ingenuity in weaving brocade. After marriage, the "wasting of the weaving" caused the painful situation of separation. Therefore, why do women in the world need to beg for "good luck" from the Weaver Girl? There is no need to waste people and money building buildings and tents to beg. "Things outside the world, two long-term relationships, should not be pitiful and sorrowful" expresses the poet's feelings and is a further expression after "only fate" and "basic use". "Youyou" is a polysemous word, here it is interpreted as "remote". "Liang Youyou" connects the "human world" in the last sentence of the previous film with the "tianwai" in the first sentence of the second film. The poet clearly pointed out that the world is far away from the sky. The cleverness of the Weaver Girl must be begged in the world; for the Weaver Girl Cow in the Heaven There is no need to sympathize with or worry about Lang Shuangxing's "rare encounters". Next, the author expresses his thoughts directly: The two stars in the sky miss each other and find it difficult to get together. Although they are desolate and lonely, they are still separated from each other in the world. What does this have to do with us? How can we control it? Let me open the curtains and enjoy the full moon, enjoying the coolness of the new autumn and the beauty of sleeping. The sentence "open the curtain and let the moon peek through the window" is adapted from Su Shi's "Dong Fairy Song" "Open the curtain and let a bright moon peek at people". Words are more valuable than creativity. The poet's "opening the curtain" and "putting in" all express his initiative and enthusiasm. At this time, the true feelings are ready to come out, adding a lot of emotion. Kuang Zhouyi's "Hui Feng Ci Hua" commented on the last two sentences of this poem: "It is unrestrained and handsome. The last sentence is especially wonderful in the two words "peeping out of the window". The moon that peeks out of the window has already been in love. Using these two words, it becomes twists and turns. There are many meanings. The twists and turns of the meaning are born from the words, and they are different from each other. "It's very pertinent."

In terms of writing, the author's lyrical depiction of scenes is extremely original. The ancients often used words to describe a woman's beauty, such as "hairy eyebrows, teeth like braided shells", etc. to refer directly to the appearance. However, this poem only uses "cloud steps" and "phoenix hook" to describe Weaver Girl's light steps and slender feet, which are highlighted from the side and have a unique perspective. Another feature of this word is that it expresses emotions with scenery and blends scenes. When the poet observes, experiences and takes in the surrounding scenery, he does so with his unique perspective and deep emotions. Embodying emotions with scenery, blending emotions into the scenery, organically combining, and integrating into one body, it has received very good artistic effects. The two sentences "Open the curtains and let the moon peek out of the window, and sleep in the fresh cool air with a beautiful rest" fully embody this feature.
