After Qin Shihuang unified China, in order to consolidate and strengthen his rule politically, he took the action of "burning books and harassing Confucian scholars" in the ideological and cultural fields, which brought the development of literature in the Qin Dynasty to an almost stagnant state. In addition, the Qin Dynasty was short-lived, so only a handful of literary works have been handed down. "Lü's Spring and Autumn Annals" written by Lu Buwei's disciples was written in the eighth year of the Qin Dynasty (239 BC). This work has a complete system and widely absorbs the views of various schools of thought. It objectively reflects the historical trend of national unification at the end of the Warring States Period. .
The only literati in the Qin Dynasty whose works have been handed down is Li Si. His "Admonition and Guest Book" is full of parallelism, vertical and horizontal discussions, strong logic and rich literary talent.
Most of the stone inscriptions recording Qin Shihuang's tour and Zen ceremony were written by Li Si, except for the inscription "Langye Terrace"
