Chaucer (England)
Your bright eyes fascinated me at first sight;
How can I bear the intoxicating magic,
My heart was pierced and I was in great pain.
Please comfort me with kind words, please hurry.
Before the wound in my heart breaks,
Your bright eyes fascinated me at first sight;
How can I afford that intoxicating magic?
I have a loyalty and I want to buy it from you.
Because you are my queen, the disaster of my life;
I didn't know how sincere I was until I died.
Your bright eyes fascinated me at first sight;
How can I bear the intoxicating magic,
My heart was pierced and I was in great pain.
But beauty blinds your heart,
Out of pity, I am afraid of how I cry;
Pride suppresses pity.
I will die innocently, how ungrateful you are;
May you listen to me and let you see my heart;
But beauty blinds your heart,
Out of pity, I'm afraid how I cry.
Tiangong carefully carves for you, never stopping,
Make you so beautiful,
Discipline my life, but your heart is as hard as iron.
But beauty blinds your heart,
Out of pity, I am afraid of how I cry;
Pride suppresses pity.
I escaped from Cupid's prison safely,
I don't want to suffer from his relentless polishing;
I only think freedom is precious, but he is worthless.
He may still chatter and obstruct in every way;
But I don't care. It's no use talking more.
I escaped from Cupid's prison safely,
I don't want to be crushed by his ruthlessness again.
Cupid crossed me off his list,
I don't feel sorry for it. He picks, I pick.
He and I will make a clean break, make a clean break.
I escaped from Cupid's prison safely,
I don't want to suffer from his relentless polishing;
I only think freedom is precious, but he is worthless.

Chaucer (about1343-1400) is an English poet. 17 years old, he was captured by the French army, redeemed and served in the imperial court. He has been to the European continent many times and was influenced by Italian humanism. Canterbury Tales, the representative work, is the first model of realism in the history of English literature, which initiated the realistic tradition of English literature. Chaucer is called "the father of English poetry" because he improved the Middle London dialect into English literary language, which laid the foundation for English literary language.
Beautiful and heartless is Chaucer's masterpiece of love poems. Showing the characteristics of lyric poetry in the Renaissance. How well the lyric poems of the Renaissance used the form of overlapping sentences. Chaucer's Beauty is Ruthless also skillfully uses the form of "three-fold cycle poem", vividly showing the painful and complicated ambivalence of a lovelorn.
The whole poem is divided into three parts, and each part consists of three sections and thirteen lines. The first part is about the hero and a beautiful woman who meet for the first time and fall in love at first sight. "Your bright eyes made me fall in love at first sight; /How can I afford that charming magic? /My heart was punctured and it was extremely painful. " In life, young men and women will fall in love at first sight from time to time, but if both sides have a good impression, it is possible to get married. If it is wishful thinking, it often ends in tragedy. The hero earnestly asks the beauty to accept his love and loyalty, but how does the beauty express it? In the second part, the ruthless beauty answered the hero's courtship with "pride". Even if the hero "tears" or even "innocently" dies because of lovesickness, the beauty is still "as hard as iron" and has no compassion. The first and second parts of the poem vividly depict the pain of the protagonist's lovelorn love and the unfaithfulness of the beauty. The third part vividly depicts the subtle and complicated mentality of the protagonist. In the first section, the protagonist pretends to be humorous and rejoices in his "liberation": "I have escaped from Cupid's cage safely,/I don't want to be tortured by him again; /I just feel that freedom is precious, and he is worthless. " How relaxed and open-minded you are! Just now, the hero, who was in great pain for his lovelorn love, suddenly said that "Love God" was worthless. Did he really see through the world of mortals? Or the so-called "sour grape" reaction? Look at the second verse of the poem and it will be clear at a glance. "He may still talk and try to block it,/but I don't care. It is useless to say more. " A "possibility" exposes the hero's true state of mind, and he fantasizes that his "decisive behavior" and "possibility" will be dissuaded by the god of love, which just shows that he has not completely forgotten love in his heart, but only concealed his inner pain with superficial ease. Look at the third section: "God of Love removed me from his list. /I don't feel any regret. He kicked me out. /I will make a clean break with him. " It is still a relaxed and generous statement, but the order of "he picks" and "I pick" has clearly told readers that the initiative of "picking" and "not picking" is not in the hands of the protagonist. Therefore, it can be said that "he picks" is out of initiative, and "I pick" is the protagonist's helplessness.
The three parts of the whole poem have different styles of expression because of the changes in content. The first and second parts mainly show the pain of the protagonist's lovelorn love and the ruthlessness of the beauty. The poem is deep and sad. The third part, the sudden change of style, the poet skillfully expressed the abnormal phenomenon of the protagonist's psychological pain to the extreme with relaxed and humorous sentences, showing the poet's extraordinary artistic skill.
