Rain Lane is Dai Wangshu's famous work, written in the summer of 1927, when the political situation was turbulent. The narrow and gloomy rain lane in Rain Lane, the lonely traveler wandering in the rain lane and the girl who is sad like a clove are all symbolic images. It is a metaphor for the dark society at that time, the people who failed in the revolution and the hazy and intermittent hope. These images constitute a symbolic artistic conception, which implicitly implies the author's confusion, sadness and expectation, giving people a hazy and profound aesthetic feeling.
Original poem
Yuxiang yuxiang
Holding an oil-paper umbrella, wandering alone in the endless,
Long and lonely rain lane, I hope to meet.
A girl like lilac has a sad heart.
She has the color of lilacs,
Lilac-like fragrance,
Sad as cloves,
Sorrow in the rain, sorrow and hesitation;
She lingered in this lonely rain lane with an oil-paper umbrella.
Like me, like me.
In silence
Cold, sadness and melancholy. She approached quietly,
Come closer and take a breath.
She drifted like a dream,
As sad and confused as a dream. Floating like a dream
A lilac field, this girl drifted by me;
She walked away silently, far away, towards the decaying wall.
Walk through this rainy path. In the lamentation of the rain,
Fade her color, dispel her fragrance,
Disappeared, even her sighing eyes,
Lilac is melancholy. Holding an oil-paper umbrella alone
Wandering in a long, long and lonely rain lane,
I hope to float past a girl as sad as a lilac.
Let's do the rest. That's not tiring.
But it's very troublesome to say ....
