Peacock flies southeast, the poem title of Han Yuefu, is named because its first sentence is "Peacock flies southeast". The first time I saw Xu Ling's "Yutai New Poetry" was in the Chen Dynasty, and the title was "Ancient Poems by Wife".
The whole poem is more than 1,700 words, which is the earliest narrative poem preserved in ancient China. Through the tragic marriage between Jiao Zhongqing and Liu Lanzhi. It effectively exposed the evils of feudal ethics and patriarchal clan system, and at the same time warmly praised the fighting spirit of Lan Zhi and his wife who were faithful to love and would rather die than surrender.
Peacock Flying Southeast has made great artistic achievements, and successfully created several characters with distinctive personalities, through which the theme of anti-feudal ethics was expressed. The language of the whole poem is concise and fluent, with strong narrative lyricism and extravagant description, which is the masterpiece of five-character narrative poetry at that time.
Peacock Flying to the Southeast is the first narrative poem in the history of China literature, and it is also called "Yuefu" with Mulan's poem.
