Appreciation of the classic poem A Fairy Tale by Nakahara Chuya [Japanese]
On an autumn night, In that distant place,
there is a beach full of rubble
the sunshine is rustling and rustling
on that beach
and the sunshine is like silica or something else
. There is a butterfly standing on the gravel
casting a faint and chiseled shadow
on the finely divided gravel
Soon after the butterfly disappears
When the already dry river bed
There is water flowing on the rustle and rustle. In this sonnet entitled A Fairy Tale, the poet eulogized the fantasy of autumn night. This poem is one of the representative works of the poet in his later years. It has a relatively complete form, showing the poet's infinite sadness and homesickness, and floating behind the fantasy image is a sense of closeness to death.
In the first section, the tired poet saw the "beach full of gravel" in the darkness of autumn night, but it was in a "distant place", but it was witnessed by the poet's eyes, and even heard the sound of the sun "rustling" all over the beach. In the second section, the poet thinks that "the sunshine is like silica or something else", like the powder of a special substance, and makes a "subtle sound", but the strangeness of this sunshine does not bring any surprise to the poet. In the third section, with a change of the pen, a butterfly appeared from nowhere, standing on the gravel and casting a faint and well-defined shadow. The shadow of this butterfly is as pale as the faint sunshine in winter, which proves that everything is an illusion. In the fourth quarter, once the shadow of the butterfly disappears, the dry river beach full of rubble has unconsciously flowed with the river.
The beauty of this poem lies in that it is like a light watercolor painting. Its tranquil beauty is set in the silent darkness of autumn night, and it is like an elegant slide painting reflected in the vast darkness. This is undoubtedly "a fairy tale" and "a peaceful song". From the beginning, it was darkness, but after the illusion disappeared, it was still darkness, that is to say, darkness constituted the mother embryo of illusion, and this darkness seemed to be conceived as a sense of closeness to death hidden in the poet's spirit. "There is a beach full of gravel" is reminiscent of the poet's hometown, Tangtian, Shankou County. Hometown, as the place where the poet "lives", often appears in his poems as a place extremely close to "death". Therefore, his poems often seem to cast a "light" but heavy shadow in an elegant watercolor painting, full of loneliness and despair. He is the beautiful butterfly but symbolizes some hope and pride, and there is a dry river bed with rivers flowing.
when appreciating this poem, you should not forget its musical effect. Due to the translation of the poem, it cannot fully reflect the characteristics of the original poem. The repeated use of some words has further strengthened the sense of phonology, which undoubtedly renders the atmosphere of the topic "Fairy Tales".
