Wang Guozhen
I don't think about whether I can succeed or not.
Now that I have chosen a distant place,
I only care about the hardships.
I don't think about whether I can win love.
Because I like roses,
Just show your sincerity bravely.
I don't think about whether there will be cold wind and rain behind me.
Because the target is the horizon.
Only the back is left to the world.
I don't think about whether the future is flat or muddy.
As long as you love life.
Everything is expected.

Make an appreciative comment
Wang Guozhen's poems, emphasizing the pursuit of images and personal ideals, have played a great role in soothing the hearts of addicts.
Love Life is one of Wang Guozhen's representative works. This poem expresses the philosophy of why we should love life with four affirmative answers. Four paragraphs, seemingly similar, actually have their own interests. The four paragraphs are analyzed and answered with images such as "success", "love", "struggle course" and "future" respectively. These four images can be said to be used by some fresh and philosophical poets, including Wang Guozhen and Xi Murong. They are not obscure, mysterious and obscure, which can be said to be completely different from obscure poems, and are also the reason for the success of Wang Guozhen's poems.
China's poems, from the earliest, mostly carry the function of singing, but obscure poems have abandoned this main function. Although misty poetry received great attention and pursuit from readers in the 1980s, it is incomplete and congenitally deficient. Although I personally appreciate misty poetry very much, I deeply regret this defect.
Misty poetry is mostly arrogant, which helps poetry succeed and promotes its decline. On the contrary, Wang Guozhen's poems betrayed detachment and even improved the rhythm. Basically, his poems can be directly used for composing and singing, and young people who are keen on pop music are naturally more likely to accept this form of poetry.
In artistic conception, Wang Guozhen seems to be inferior to the misty school. Wang Guozhen is used to images such as "love" and "success", and many of his works adopt these basic images, which may be Wang Guozhen's own preference or a compromise to cater to ideology.
In fact, Wang Guozhen's poems are not simply preaching. He said: "Since you have chosen a distant place, you only care about suffering." . Instead of shouting slogans and insisting that you do this, he sang and suggested that you do this, which was a very wise enlightenment for poetry readers in the 1990 s.
Wang Guozhen's poems always embody the distinct enlightenment function, so his poems can even be used in Chinese textbooks. Wang Guozhen's poetry once set off an upsurge, making him a rookie in the field of poetry and a mentor to young people. I don't know if all this contributed to the passionate enlightenment of his poetry.
Let's talk about "love life". In my reading, Wang Shi's love is not the ultimate success and happy ending in the future, nor is it the acquisition of love and the realization of struggle goals. Love overflowing in poetry is actually a process and a pursuit. "Suffering hardships" and "expressing sincerity" are both manifestations of love. Love life, not because you want it, but because you love it, and you finally get it. In this way, the theme of poetry is sublimated.
Love Life is a lyric poem that is very suitable for reading aloud and can also be read as an inspirational poem. I believe that as long as there is love in my heart and love for life, all good results can be expected.
