What does love mean in Beyond Smoke?

The poet Rove described himself as a cloud drifting in a foreign land. Beyond the smog, the poet's deep yearning for his hometown on the night of "ebb and flow" is hidden, which makes readers feel the ripples in their hearts and wash them to their hearts.

Beyond Smoke is the most famous modern poet in Taiwan Province, and is regarded as one of the masterpieces of love by China poetry circles. Written in 1965, included in the Foreign Collection (published by Genesis Poetry Society, 1967). The whole poem has four parts:

Calling your name in the waves, your name is already outside Qian Fan.

The tide is coming/the shoe print on the left is only in the afternoon/the shoe print on the right is dusk/June turns out to be a very sad book/the ending is so sad/the sun sets.

You are still staring at the pure white in that man's eyes. He knelt in front of you all afternoon yesterday and looked at the beautiful clouds/sea. Why did you light the blank lamp among all the lamps?

What else can we catch? Your eyes, once called clouds, are now called cigarettes.

Poetry is a romantic and rhythmic art, and the blending of scenery is the aesthetic feature of poetic artistic conception. Wang Guowei said in "Words on Earth": "All scenery words are sentimental words, and all sentimental words are scenery words." Ximenes, a Spanish poet who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, said: "Real poetry lies in deep feelings." Only those poems that come from deep feelings can move us from head to toe.

Li Shangyin of the Tang Dynasty said: "The moment that should last forever came and went unconsciously." Maybe! Affectionate poet, still mired in inescapable melancholy and persistence, knows that he has left Qian Fan, but that affection and memory have not dissipated with the wind. She may have heard it, but after all, she felt a familiar smell. Once the passion, but gradually turned dull, unable to let go but had to let go in a sigh.

At the beginning of this poem, love painted such a gloomy picture with a few faint strokes of pen and ink, spread out the sadness of Song Ci in the imagery voice, and spread a layer of light smoke-like yarn in front of readers. Looking at the seaside, the poet stood alone on the beach in the night, and the sea was already ebbing in the dissolved moonlight. It seems that he can still clearly hear the sound of the waves, one after another, beating against the rocks. Far away, I can't see the Iraqi boat, heading for an unknown distance. He is here, "calling in the sound of the waves", trying to call her name, over and over again, only to let the sound of the waves mercilessly swallow up the cry in his heart and disappear into the deep night of the sea.

Plot and pure lyric poetry are usually contradictory, but Hu Shi advocates that poetry is like composition, and good poetry should have plot. At the beginning of the second paragraph of Beyond the Smoke, love continues to tell the endless sorrow of "ebb and flow". In the reciprocating cycle, the poet recalled her gentle music and painting. Time is a natural constant, but "the shoe print on the left is only afternoon/the shoe print on the right is dusk". How did you reach the end point in one step from left to right? The poet uses the compression and dislocation of time to symbolize the life of love and the sadness of love, but it is as fast and fleeting as the tide. As short as the distance between the footprints on the shore. I haven't had time to understand how sweet it is, but happiness is far away. Leave a lonely figure and wait in the dark. June is a very sentimental book. In the storm and rain, the silent book was blown to the last page without postscript. The futile call can't change the tragic ending of love "sunset". Everything tends to be so quiet, so quiet that it is too late to find out. Ruthless facts pull people back to the cold reality. Gathering and parting, parting and merging, the footsteps of time wiped away the tears in my heart, but followed their original traces and embarked on the right track of fate.

In the first two verses of the poem, the author creates a state of mind that makes the audience feel cold and disappointed in the yearning for "ebb and flow" and depicts a sense of frustration.

The "pure white" in the third section should refer to a pure love as white as jade, or a tender feeling like a bright moon. On the tearful night, the poet still stood there, staring at the waves for a long time. what are you reading? Staring at the "pure white" in the eyes gradually evolved into a "vacant" look.

What needs to remind readers in particular is that the third sentence of the third section is very long, which seems to be inconsistent with the general law of poetry writing. However, through this form, the once intimate relative "gaze" is separated, cut off and isolated by the infinitely expanding tide of time and space. Yesterday it was "pure white", now it is only "blank". The poet's obsession seems to be stirring again, seemingly unconscious. He knelt down to her with a bang, and also to the "cloud that has been beautiful all afternoon" that has quietly passed away. It was yesterday's dream, a lost cigarette. However, it is full of vitality and charm, but it shines in his life. However, clouds are beautiful, but fragile and will eventually be disillusioned. It seems that people can only grasp the glory of that moment, but it is always a flash in the pan and finally disappears into the boundless sky.

Finally, the poet flashed a dream and seemed to understand this, so he complained, "Oh, sea, why do you light only one of all the lights?" Light what? Is it a kind of "vacant" mood that you forget and ignore, or a kind of love that dissipates like "smoke"? It can be seen here that the poet did it on purpose. The poet paved the way for the life experience of the lyric hero "He" from sensibility to rationality, and inherited the first two sections in structure, which is a transformation process. Compare love to a lamp, the lamp will go out sometimes, and so will love. Why bother to pursue it desperately and leave yourself alone for a lifetime? He inquired deeply and finally got such an answer. From initial sensibility to enlightenment after vicissitudes, this is a person's transformation. However, in the emotional charm between the lines, the only constant is loneliness and loneliness.

Finally, "What else can you catch?" Can't catch anything! Everything that used to be, eventually vanished, leaving no trace. What is left is the long-term lonely yearning in people's hearts. However, no one can change the doomed ending. The "eye of the cloud" here is an echo of the "pure white" in the previous section. "Smoke" echoes the "empty" in the last paragraph. The poet skillfully uses the image of "smoke" to implant people's hearts, and uses the floating of consciousness and subconscious and the collision of images to express the disharmony between the external scenery and the inner world, and once again renders the sadness and melancholy of the whole poem.

The poet's conclusion with "smoke" is thought-provoking. After reading the complete poem, it seems that people are still immersed in it and cannot extricate themselves.
