Legend has it that there was a man named Zhang Bozi in the Han Dynasty who practiced Taoism for many years. Seeing this scene, he lingered, so he chose a place and rode his red tiger to heaven, becoming a fairy.
People witnessed this scene of ascending to heaven and becoming immortal, and they passed it on from mouth to mouth, burning incense and worshiping at a distance. The phoenix water was changed into immortal water, and a bridge was built where Zhang Bozi became immortal, called "Immortal Bridge".
According to legend, when Sima Xiangru went to Chang 'an in the Han Dynasty to seek fame and pass by this bridge, he swore in a big book on the bridge corridor: "A gentleman will never ride a horse again." . Later, when he became famous, he went home wearing the clothes of "Ma Xu", and the Sage Bridge was renamed Ma Xu Bridge.
The influence of Sima Qiao:
Among the many bridges in Chengdu, Sima Bridge, with its long history, diverse cultural forms and far-reaching ideological influence, has been sung by literati in past dynasties and is the first bridge of Chengdu poetry.
Its inspiration, love, farewell, imperial examination and other connotations have become the treasure house of poetry and drama creation in later generations.
