Tongren Zhongnanmen Ancient City is located in the center of tongren city, with a total area of 36,685 square meters and a total area of 25,544 square meters of ancient residential buildings. It is the only original ecological historical block in tongren city that can reflect the style of the ancient city, and it is a unique national cultural resource in tongren city. The ancient architecture takes the north and south Zhongshan Road as the longitudinal axis, which is located on both sides of the road, and then connected into a whole by countless alleys in the east and west directions. Diaolou, ancestral halls, houses, shops, alleys, city walls and wharves have gradually taken shape, with a large number of buildings and complete types. According to the survey, most of the residential buildings in the ancient city have a history of 200-300 years, and most of them are left over from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Folk architecture, religious architecture, commercial architecture and other formats of all ethnic groups are skillfully combined here, and the culture of eastern Guizhou, Central Plains and Huizhou merchants meet and merge here, which intuitively reflects the history of urban development. The first "China Tourism Day" was held on May 6th, 2003. In order to celebrate this festival, give full play to the positive role of tourism in inheriting Chinese civilization, protecting the natural environment and promoting economic and social development, and create a good atmosphere for supporting and participating in tourism in the whole society, Tongren Municipal People's Government and Tongren District Tourism Bureau held the first China Tourism Day in Tongren Ancient City from May 65438 to May 25.
It is reported that the confluence of two rivers in Tongren ancient city was born of water. According to historical records, in the Yuan Dynasty, a fisherman obtained three statues of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism at the intersection of large and small rivers outside the ancient city, hence the name of the ancient city. Recent archaeology shows that about 3000 years ago, both sides of Jinjiang River in Tongren were densely populated and culturally prosperous. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, there were many merchants' guild halls, which enjoyed the reputation of "protecting merchants' stacks in eastern Guizhou". In the second year of Jingtai in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 145 1), Zhu Keng, the magistrate, built a earthen city based on the river. After that, the government kept paving stones, forming a pattern of nine doors, three streets and six lanes. The ancient city is well preserved so far. The ancient street, Gu Xiang, the ancient city pool, the water pier, the ancient well, the ancient trees, the ancient quadrangle wooden houses and the blue bricks and tiles are rare physical files of urban development. In 2006, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit. At present, the two levels of government in tongren city have raised funds for the protection, renovation and development of the ancient city, which was officially opened to the public on May 20 1 3, 2008. The ancient city is full of new vitality and has great ornamental and experience value.
