1. Tang Dynasty: Li Bai's "Five Poems on a Tour of Dongting Lake·Part 2"
Excerpts from the original text:
The autumn water of Nanhu is smokeless at night, and you can ride the current with endurance Straight up to heaven.
Let's take advantage of the moonlight in Dongting and buy wine on the boat beside the white clouds.
Interpretation:
The water surface of Nanhu Lake is clear and smokeless at night in autumn, but how can we ride the current to the sky? Let's borrow some moonlight from Dongting Lake and enjoy the moonlight and drink.
2. Tang Dynasty: Wang Changling's "Song Xia"
Excerpts from the original text:
Drinking horses across the autumn water, the water is cold and the wind is like a knife.
The sun has not gone out in Pingsha, and I can see Lintao dimly.
Interpretation:
I led my horse to drink water and crossed the big river. The water was cold and the autumn wind was as sharp as a sword. The setting sun has not yet set in the vast battlefield, and Lintao is seen in the distance in the darkness.
3. Tang Dynasty: Du Fu's "Embracing Li Bai at the end of the day"
Excerpts from the original text:
When the cool breeze rises at the end of the day, what do you think of a gentleman?
When will the swan geese arrive? There will be plenty of autumn water in the rivers and lakes.
Interpretation:
The cool breeze is blowing from the sky. How do you feel? It makes me miss you so much.
I wonder when you will receive my letter? I'm just afraid that the rivers and lakes are dangerous and the autumn water is full of storms.
4. Tang Dynasty: Li Bai's "Du Ling Quatrains"
Excerpts from the original text:
Climb Du Ling in the south and look across the Five Tombs in the north.
The autumn water is bright and the sun sets, and the stream of light wipes out the distant mountains.
Interpretation:
Climb Du Ling to the south and look at Wuling to the north. The reflection of the setting sun makes the autumn water look particularly bright, and the afterglow of the sun slowly disappears in the middle of the distant mountains.
5. Tang Dynasty: Li Bai's "If you break the lotus, you will get a gift"
Excerpt from the original text:?
Walding the river to play in the autumn water, I love the fresh red lotus.
Climb the lotus and play with the beads, but the ripples will not be round.
Interpretation:
I row a boat in the river to ripple the autumn water, and I love the bright color of the lotus even more. When I fiddle with the lotus leaves, there are water droplets on them, but they never become round.
