Poetry is the earliest literary genre, which has completely different characteristics from other genres. It comes down to five aspects:
1, upright is the most basic feature of poetry. Poetry always expresses strong feelings. Qu Yuan's noble sentiment and unswerving spirit are manifested in his "I will teach without worrying, and I will be unconscious all my life". Du Zimei's An De Guang Sha Wan shows a broad mind; Tao Yuanming (leisurely seeing Nanshan under the chrysanthemum fence) shows his yearning for the rural life in Sheung Shui. Readers can always feel the thoughts and emotions of the protagonist in the process of appreciation.
Words are from the heart, poetry is produced by the true feelings, and the true feelings are naturally revealed.
2. Poetry usually reflects life through images. The emotion of poetry can often be gathered and contained in artistic images. Compared with other literary works, poetry reflects life more strongly and typically. "Worrying about Li Yuan in poor years, sighing in the intestines" shows us the image of a poet who always cares about the country and the people no matter what difficulties he is in, which makes future generations deeply admire him.
3. Poetry expresses thoughts and feelings through artistic conception. Wang Changling said in "Poetry": "When it comes to the realm of things. If you want to be a landscape poem, then Zhang Quan and Shi Yunfeng's territory ... Second, the situation, entertainment and resentment are all expressed in your mind, which will be true. " Poetic artistic conception is the artistic realm of poetry formed by the combination of the life picture described by the poet and the thoughts and feelings expressed.
Wang Guowei said: "All scenery words are love words." However, the objects and scenery created by the poet are not completely equivalent to the face of life, but the scenery and objects combined with the poet's subjective color. It is the condensation of the poet's unique feelings, thoughts and feelings, and also the expression of the poet's temperament and personality. Moreover, writing scenery is only for lyricism. Scenery and emotion are inseparable, and there are often scenes in love and feelings in the scene. Infinite harmony is the realm pursued by poets.
4. Classical poetry has the characteristics of refinement and implication. The language of poetry is actually a special and mysterious symbol system, which not only contains abstract and systematic rational implication, but also contains emotional beauty. China's ancient poems are best at expressing the richest content and thoughts in the least language, which is the characteristic of extremely refined ancient poems.
Delicate and subtle are always related. However, exquisiteness does not mean implicitness, nor does expressing one's mind directly. Poetic language, which does not directly express feelings, often expresses meaning through metaphors, synaesthesia, puns, allusions and symbols, which makes people feel subtle and hazy.
5. Ancient poems have musical beauty. Some ancient poems were originally sung to music.
The musical beauty of ancient poetry is more reflected in language. If language has the law of rhythmic beauty, it will undoubtedly increase the aesthetic feeling of poetry. Among them, quatrains and metrical poems have roughly the same meter, that is, the number of words and sentences is fixed, and the flat lines have a fixed format and generally rhyme. In this way, poetry uses this language factor to start from various aspects, such as paying attention to the regularity or change of sentence patterns, rhythm and antithesis, flat tones and rhymes, thus forming a kind of rhythm and rhythmic beauty.
