What is a creative society?

A literary group established in the early days of the May 4th New Literature Movement. June 192 1 is composed of Guo Moruo, Cheng, Yu Dafu, Zhang Ziping, Tian Han, Zheng and others who study in Japan. They published the Creation Society series in Shanghai in the autumn of 192 1, and initially collected Guo Moruo's poem Goddess, Yu Dafu's collection of novels Sinking and Guo Moruo's translation of Young Werther. 1922 published the quarterly magazine Creation in Shanghai from May, and 1923 edited and published the literary supplement of Creation Weekly and China New Newspaper from May.

In the early stage, the Creative Society took "respecting genius and advocating self-expression" as its artistic purpose, and its works had typical early romantic aesthetic characteristics, which greatly promoted the new literature movement in China. The school of poetry formed with the creation society as the core is also called early romanticism. During the first revolutionary civil war, most of the main members of the creative society tended to be revolutionary or engaged in revolutionary practical work. Later, it showed a trend of "changing direction", in which radical younger generations, such as Li, Feng Naichao, Zhu Jingwo, who had just returned from Japan, participated, and then developed into the later creation society. In the later period, the Creation Society and Sun Society strongly advocated proletarian revolutionary literature. Later, Feng Naichao, Wang, Mu, and other new members studying in Japan joined the Creative Society. The main publications are Creation Monthly, Cultural Criticism, Quicksand Semi-monthly, Thought Monthly, and New Ideological Trend Monthly. 1February, 929, Chuangshe was closed for the Kuomintang government.
