Literary appreciation:

"Pick lotus every day, and the magistrate will return at dusk." . These two sentences are about the hard work of the girl who picked the lotus, leaving a broad imagination space. "Day by day" is the time when the sun rises every day. The former "day" is a pronoun and the latter "day" is a verb. The second sentence cannot simply regard Zhou Chang and The Return of Twilight as causality, so it is understood that because the waterway is very long, most of them will not come back until the evening.

This is unreasonable, because "Zhou Chang" has many lotus flowers, and it doesn't need to go back and forth all day. "Zhou Chang" reproduces the vast environment of picking lotus, as well as the natural scenery, small families and customs on both sides of the strait; "Returning at dusk" means that the lotus picking boat is busy in the morning and evening.

Therefore, The Return of Cheung Chau at dusk can be interpreted as: Tian Tian red lotus, green leaves and pink petals grow in the endless lotus pond; Lotus picking girls are busy with the boat going back and forth. In the evening, the boat was full of fruits-full of fat lotus fruits, full of girls' laughter and infinite warmth.
