Mao Zedong
The spring departed in wind and rain; With flying snow it’s back again.
Although the icicles on the cliff are still hanging for miles. There is a sweet flower in it.
Joe doesn't fight for spring, he only reports it.
When the flowers bloom, she laughs in the bushes.
Translation:
Wind and rain sent away winter, and flying snow ushered in spring.
The cliff is frozen, and the plum blossoms are still in bloom.
Although plum blossoms are pretty and gorgeous, they don't compete with peaches and plums for beauty, but only forecast the information of spring to Fang Qun.
When there are colorful flowers everywhere, plum blossoms smile among the flowers.
Creation background
In February, Mao Zedong was in Guangzhou to prepare for the upcoming enlarged working meeting of the Central Committee. After reading Lu You's Yongmei, he felt that his writing was good, but he was depressed, so he could only borrow its form, not its meaning, so he continued a poem by Yongmei, which was different from Lu You's style. The main purpose was to encourage everyone to despise difficulties and dare to overcome them. This word first appeared in Poems of Chairman Mao published by People's Literature Publishing House 1963 in February.
