The Historical Origin of Shennong's Family
Fangxian yellow rice wine is the oldest yellow rice wine in China. It was listed as a tribute in 827 BC and was awarded the title of "Fengjiang Yujiu" for more than 2,800 years. According to historical records, "Fangling Yellow Rice Wine" was popular in the Western Zhou Dynasty. Yin Jifu, the author of The Book of Songs, was entrusted by the King of Chu to propose a toast to Zhou Xuanwang, more than 400 years earlier than the earliest premature rice wine in China and Zhejiang. Its production time should be earlier, so it can be concluded that Fangxian yellow rice wine is the earliest yellow rice wine in China. Li Xian of Tang Zhongzong has been in exile in Fangling for more than ten years. Because he is addicted to alcohol, he is called "wine tasting husband". The accompanying court winemakers are all very clever. They improved the technology and formula on the basis of local ancient recipes, avoided the word "yellow" and magically turned yellow rice wine into milky white and bluish white. It is unique among thousands of kinds of yellow rice wine in China. After this wine was sent to Wu Zetian for tasting, it was named "Fangling Imperial Wine" and Zhongzong named "Huang Feng Imperial Wine", which became an enduring tribute of the palace. During the 18 dynasties from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty, * * * 23 emperors became attached to Fangxian yellow rice wine, which was a great miracle of wine culture in China and even in the world.
