Introduction to Catastrophe and Sunset

Dark Sun is the background of Dungeons and Dragons. The set stage is an arid world Athas, which was originally a rich blue ocean planet, but its vitality was taken away by out-of-control magic and became a land abandoned by the gods for lack of water and hope. Another feature of Athas is that it has no tall mountains and is extremely short of metals and rocks, so wood, obsidian and bones are the main raw materials for its weapons, tools and building materials in the world.
