Happy meeting
I went up to the west building alone without words, the moon was like a hook. The lonely Wutong deep courtyard locks Qingqiu.
Continuous cutting and confusion are the symptoms of divorce. Don't just have the ordinary taste in your heart.
"Happy Meeting·Speechless Alone on the West Tower" is a famous poem written by Li Yu (doubtful), the later master of the Southern Tang Dynasty. The title of the poem is "Happy Meeting", but it is about the sorrow of parting. This was written when the author was imprisoned in the Song Dynasty. The confused sorrow in the poem is just an episode after the end of his court life. Since he had surrendered to the Song Dynasty at that time, what is expressed here is his heartache and sorrow after leaving his hometown and going to the country. This poem is truly emotional, deep and natural. It breaks through the style of Huajian poems that specialize in "women's language" with a gorgeous and smooth style. It is the pioneer of the graceful style of poems in the early Song Dynasty.

Vernacular translation:
Silent and lonely, I slowly climbed up the empty west tower alone.
Looking up at the sky, there is only the cold moon that is as curved as a hook.
Looking down, I saw the sycamore tree alone in the courtyard, and the deep courtyard was shrouded in the cold and desolate autumn colors.
What makes people feel confused and confused is the pain of country subjugation.
The lingering sorrow lingers in my heart, but it is another kind of indescribable pain.
