Chapter 9 of Nehemiah is about the Israelites confessing their sins.
1. On that day, a quarter of the people stood in their own places and read the law of the Lord their God, while another man confessed his sin and worshipped the Lord their God. (Nehemiah 9:3 NIV) When the Israelites confess their sins, they first listen to God's law and then confess their sins, which means that God's word can reveal people's sins, and God's word reflects our own lives. Therefore, our confession also needs to be based on God's Word. God's word can make us understand our sins, which is the way we can repent and live a life that God likes through repentance.
2. The word of God is eternal. In Nehemiah's time, the Israelites saw God's redemption of Israel from the law book, and saw that God was not angry easily, but was kind and compassionate. Thousands of years later, by reading the Five Books of Moses, Judges and Samuel, we can also appreciate such a glorious god. Thank God for his eternal love for us!
Psalm 27
God is our refuge. God not only protects us, but also exalts us before our enemies. Rely on god. We don't have to be afraid of the environment. Thank god!
Touched scripture: "You, only you are the Lord!" You made the heavens and the heavens, and all things in the heavens, the earth and all things on the earth, and the sea and all things in the sea. You saved it all. The heavenly army worships you, too. (Nehemiah 9:6)
Now I can hold my head high above the enemies in all directions. I will sacrifice in his tent with joy. I will sing a song praising God. (Psalm 27:6)
