Appreciation of Yang Wanli's Sleeping in Early Summer
The original title of this poem is Early Summer Nap, but compared with the abridged version, it does not provide us with more information. Inferred from Yang Wanli's life, this poem was written in the fifteen years when he retired from the countryside in his later years. Some friends may say that you are wrong. Yang Wanli was 65 years old when he retired from the countryside. The ancients did a poor job in dental care. The 65-year-old man has no teeth for a long time. Where did he get the "sour plum splash"? That's true, but on closer inspection, Yang Wanli's poems seem vivid and natural, but they are full of flaws. In Volume 9 of Notes on Rewriting Lent by the King of Qing Dynasty, he criticized this poem and said, "Plums are sour and bananas are green. It's already early summer scenery. Is it safe to catch willow flowers? " In fact, it is not difficult for people who have read old poems to find that this poem by Yang Wanli looks like a real scene on the surface, but it is actually made up of a bunch of previous chapters and sentences. For example, the phrase "Plum sour pours teeth" comes from Han Wo's Deep Window, and "Banana green screen window" is similar to "Dew has a little desire" in Yang's Complaining about Love, but Bai Juyi has used the word "catch" in his poems for a long time, and his poems are similar: "Who can learn more children's play and catch willow flowers?" Therefore, although Yang Wanli's poems read well, they are not superb poems. Mr. Qian Zhongshu once commented: "For example, watching the moon, they don't write their own direct impressions and personal events, but they are trapped in ancient famous sayings. I don't want Du Lao's Cangzhou Waiting for the Moon or Zhang Sheng's The West Chamber, so I thought,' I want to go home by wind, but I'm afraid of a beautiful building. Their minds have lost their innocence and are unfriendly to things, so they think they are not fresh. They only know how to confirm and match the descriptions of the ancients ... Many poems since the Six Dynasties often make us wonder: Does the author really appreciate the scenes written in the poems? Or does he have a good memory and remember idioms and allusions about this scene? "This may be a big shortcoming of Song poetry, sometimes I can't even think about it. What the predecessors said was too classic. What did the descendants say?
