Among Xue Tao's poems handed down from generation to generation, the most is the Seven Wonders, and the best is the Seven Wonders. Of these four lines, the most lyrical is the best. These poems are mournful, fluent, beautiful and colorful, which makes people read and deeply impressed by Xue Tao's outstanding literary talent. At the same time, it aroused people's infinite sympathy for Xue Tao's bitter life and bleak life experience. In the Tang Dynasty, there were music officials in every yamen and military town, among which official prostitutes lived. They specialize in serving the government, performing with wine and even serving privately. Wei Gaote, the local chief executive of Chengdu at that time, appreciated Xue Tao and often ordered her to serve wine and sing to welcome guests. Later, Wei Gaolian asked the court to appoint Xue Tao as the "school book lang". Although it was not passed, people nicknamed Xue as a "girls' school book" from now on. From Wei Gao, Gao Chongwen, Duan Wenchang to Li Deyu, surprisingly, our time lasted eleven times. They all had poetry and wine exchanges with Xue Tao, and their relationship was extremely special. Most of Xue Tao's poems have been lost.
There are 88 poems written by her in The Whole Tang Poetry compiled by Qing people, most of which are poems about flowers and the moon, and they are not very ideological and artistic. But if you read it carefully, you can often feel the poet's unspeakable pain and yearning for a happy life between the lines. The most admirable thing about Xue Tao is that although she "sings poetry" with powerful people, she is supercilious, completely equal and very understanding in dealing with them.
In the poem, Xue Tao describes her lonely life. She "walks in the stream after independence" every day, and even the egret is familiar with her scarlet dress without panic. The poetess asked herself: Why is the world so sad and lonely? Because bosom friends are hard to find, Boya's string has long been cut off. Showed a very deep sadness and loneliness.
