Is "Spring and Snow in Qinyuan" an ancient poem or a modern poem?
It is not a modern poem, nor an ancient poem. Qinyuan spring snow is a word! Ci and poetry are two different literary genres. Only modern people often write poems, and few people write lyrics. Moreover, most modern people write modern poems, and of course there are a few who write ancient poems. In other words, ancient poetry and modern poetry are distinguished not from its content or its era, but from its form. Ancient poems include ancient poems and modern poems, and modern poems include metrical poems and quatrains. Classical poetry has no word limit and rhymes can be changed, but modern poetry has specific requirements on word limit, rhymes and even writing. Modern poetry is not limited to words, does not pay attention to rhyme, and has different lengths. On the surface, it is similar to words, with uneven length. But fundamentally speaking, the word has a plaque first, and then fill in the word. It's like we made a song first and then wrote lyrics for it. So the number of words depends on the song. Epigraph is also a symbol of songs. Just because of objective reasons, the music of ancient epigrams has not been preserved, only "lyrics" are left, and future generations will imitate the original lyrics to fill in the lyrics. Therefore, we often see that the form and number of words under the same epigraph are the same, but the content is quite different. In other words, if we change the words in "Qin Yuan Chun Xue" now, it is a new word.
