Looking forward is hard to catch, turning to desire will always make you diligent.
Adhere to the current affairs of the people, show your beauty and persuade the farmers.
Pingchou is far away from the wind, and good seedlings are also full of new ideas.
Although I have not measured my achievements over the years, I am glad that there are many things going on.
There is a break in farming, but the traveler has no interest in it.
When the sun comes in, we return home together, and when the sun comes in, we work hard for our neighbors.
The long chants cover the firewood gate, and we talk about being the people of Longmu.

This group of poems was written in the spring of the second year of Yuanxing (403), the reign of Emperor Jin'an. In the winter of the fifth year of Long'an (401), his mother returned home after his death, and he retired from his post since then. In the first year of Yuanxing (402), Huan Xuan, who captured Jingzhou, further captured the capital and was named Taiwei, taking charge of the government. The hopelessness of the country's affairs made Tao Yuanming firm up his determination to work on his own business and put it into practical action. These two poems were written by Tao Yuanming after he personally participated in spring plowing.
