character introduction
The image of Chief Gaspar Elon in Corn Man has obvious folklore characteristics. Gaspar Elon's protector is a yellow-haired rabbit with ears that look like corn leaves. The tooth marks he left on the fruit and the footprints he left on the road can only be recognized by the yellow-haired rabbit. Gaspar landed on the earth with the land of Elon where the Indians lived, and merged with this land. Therefore, he was also named Elon like the land.
The story about Maria Tegon also has a strong folk tradition. Maria's husband is blind and they have three children. The family's life depends entirely on her short-term work, and the blind husband goes out to beg. Later, Maria suddenly left her husband with three children. When she ran away, people said that she was fascinated by dark magic, drank a bowl of chocolate rice porridge that spiders climbed over, and got spider crazy, so she left her relatives and left home. Later, she became a mountain peak named Maria Tegong Peak.
