On December 17th, 1997, Zhu Dequn, a famous French Chinese painter, was elected to the Art College of the French Academy, becoming the first Chinese "member of the Art College" in history. Zhu Dequn, a painter, was not only selected as one of the 25 academicians by the French Academy on December 17th, 1997, but also the first Chinese-American art academician since the establishment of the French Academy more than two hundred years ago. His achievements are self-evident.
Zhu Dequn, formerly known as Zhu Decui. Born in Baitu Town, Xiaoxian County, Jiangsu Province in 192. (Xiaoxian was originally from Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and was transferred to Anhui Province in 1955.) Although Xiaoxian is located in a corner of Huaibei, it has a tradition of writing and learning arts. Wang Ziyun, a famous art historian, and Liu Kaiqu, a famous sculptor who is a student of Wang Ziyun, are both from Xiaoxian County. Baitu Town is surrounded by mountains. When Zhu Dequn was a child, he used to relax in the mountains.
His grandfather Zhu Hanshan and his father Zhu Yucheng have been practicing medicine for generations, and they all like painting and calligraphy. His father often paints for his own amusement in his spare time, and he also paints with his father and learns cursive script. The calligraphy and painting works collected at home became his art enlightenment teaching materials. After graduating from primary school, I went to Xuzhou to attend middle school. In 1935, he entered the Hangzhou National Art College. Because the middle school had not finished yet, he borrowed his cousin Zhu Dequn's diploma to register, and he became the second "Zhu Dequn" of the Zhujiajian family.
From Mr. Zhu Dequn's schooling experience in his youth and his overseas struggle, people can feel the creative theme that this artistic fireman has always firmly maintained. Therefore, people have seen a series of figures that once appeared in Mr. Zhu Dequn's artistic trek: Wu Dayu, Dorival, Michio, Pierre and Picasso; They are a very meaningful part of Zhu Dequn's life communication, and even the realistic artistic environment of Mr. Zhu Dequn's painting career. Thus, around the founder Mr. Zhu Dequn, European painting circles in the 2th century were figuratively shown.
Some people say that looking at Zhu Dequn's paintings is like being drenched in brilliance. His lyrical and poetic abstract paintings are praised by modern French painting historians as "the most successful painter who combines the exquisiteness of oriental art with the intensity of western painting".
Since living in Paris in 1955, Zhu Dequn has spent nearly half a century as a wanderer. Facing the soaring motherland, he showed the desire to "go home". "I have been engaged in artistic creation for 6 or 7 years, and two-thirds of the time is abroad. Now that I'm old, I always hope to go home. On the recommendation of Zhu Dequn, Mr. Wu Guanzhong was elected as the Communication Fellow of the Art College of the French Academy in 2, and he was the first China-born artist to win this honor (Zhu Dequn was a French Chinese at that time). This is also the first Asian to hold this position in the nearly two hundred years since the establishment of the French Academy. At present, there are only 1 painters and communication academicians in the Academy of Art, and Wu Guanzhong is the second painter from an Asian country to be selected.
Wu Guanzhong was born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province in 1919. He is a famous contemporary painter China, an outstanding China painter, an oil painter and an art educator. He graduated from the National Hangzhou Art College in 1942 and once taught in the Department of Architecture of the National Chongqing University. after
the sword of the eastern scribes and the sword of the western world —— the sword-wearing ceremony of Francois Cheng, an academician of the French Academy
On the evening of June 1th, the hall of the Paris municipal government was brightly lit. A solemn and special ceremony is being held here. Francois Cheng, a Chinese-American writer praised by the French media as a "tireless ferryman between China and western cultures", will accept the sword of an academician of the French Academy, which symbolizes honor and status. Thin and peaceful, this is Francois Cheng's intuitive impression, but this seemingly thin body is full of passion and vitality. Listen to the praise of the mayor of Paris, he is so modest; Standing in front of the microphone, he was so wise that the audience was intoxicated with the yearning for China culture.
The applause lasted for a long time. Francois Cheng held the sword high in Qi Mei and accepted the congratulations from the Mayor of Paris, delanoe, the incumbent academician of the French Academy, celebrities from all walks of life and representatives of overseas Chinese in Paris. An oriental scholar, with his unique contribution to the integration of eastern and western cultures, won the honor of wearing the "immortal" sword and stepped into an awe-inspiring hall.
In p>1635, Li Sailiu, the prime minister of King Louis XIII of France, founded the French Academy, aiming to attract the leading figures in French literature and thought to defend and spread the French language and culture. Only 4 chairs have been reserved in this famous cultural hall, that is, 4 lifelong academicians. Only when the academicians die and leave vacant places can they vote for the by-election, so the selected academicians are called "immortals". After the establishment of the College, French masters of literature and art, such as Racine, La Fontaine, Montesquieu, chateaubriand, Hugo, Lamartin, Merimee and Dumas, who are well-known to people all over the world, have become "immortals". With the progress of the times, the French Academy has integrated the promotion of French culture with the pursuit of cultural diversity, and gradually developed into the highest honor institution in France beyond the political system and the limitations of the times. When the famous writer Usain entered the French Academy as the first woman, the poet senghor became the first black academician, and one of the founders of the absurd drama, Yunescu, was among the "immortals", they blew a wisp of breeze for this ancient temple. On June 13th, 22, Francois Cheng was honored to become the 75th academician of the Institute, replacing Jacques de Bourbon Bisser, the owner of Seat 34, as the first Asian academician.
Francois Cheng, formerly known as Cheng Jixian, was born in August 1929 in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. He graduated from Chongqing Liren Middle School and was admitted to the Foreign Languages Department of Nanjing Jinling University. In 1948, he came to France with his father, studied at University of Paris VII and obtained a doctorate. After that, he should be employed as a professor at great eastern III Institute of Language and Culture in Paris.
after decades of unremitting efforts, Francois Cheng has become a famous scholar who is a poet, writer and translator. His artistic treatise "Virtual and Real: On the Language of Chinese Painting" has become one of the "textbooks" for westerners to understand and study China's paintings. The long poem "Stone and Tree" was selected in "Selected Poems and Songs of France in the Twentieth Century"; The French novel Tian Yi Yan won the French Literature Award of the French Academy. French President Jacques Chirac personally awarded him the Knight of Honor in recognition of his outstanding literary achievements.
what he has been pursuing painstakingly for years is the organic integration of eastern and western cultures. Dean of the French College of Literature praised him for "enriching China culture with the essence of French culture and French culture with the depth of China culture". French sinologist Loire said in a letter to him: "British poet and writer Kipling said that the East and the West can never meet. He is all wet. You have vividly refuted his assertion with your own actions. " What a sword this is!
In the past, 4 academicians of the French Academy enjoyed the honor of being members of the royal family, and enjoyed the same right to wear swords as nobles. Nowadays, the imperial system and the royal family have gone with the wind, and the academician's sword, which symbolizes honor, rights and status, is still preserved as a tradition. Each academician's sword is a unique treasure conceived by himself, designed by a special person.
Francois Cheng's sword-making purpose is to integrate Chinese and western cultures. The sword body is made of silver, and the whole body reveals the light of pure wisdom. The hilt of the sword is gilded, and the first sentence of Zhengqi Song written by China Song Dynasty patriotic poet Wen Tianxiang, "Heaven and earth are upright", is engraved in a beautiful font. Surrounded by green bamboo and white lilies, the former symbolizes China and the latter symbolizes French.
A volley of "He" on the hilt is particularly eye-catching, giving people the illusion that man and sword are one and the two cultures are on the same wall. As he said in the ceremony speech: "The word" harmony "can be understood as the dialogue and integration between Chinese and Western cultures. A few birds accompanying" harmony "have raised the dialogue between things to a soaring level. Every culture can become one of the other cultures through communication. The exchange between China and Western culture is not only possible, but also very necessary. "
The Western Sword of the Oriental Literati. In this splendid typical western architecture, an oriental has become the object of great respect and admiration. This situation makes the people of China feel sincerely proud. (End)
