Development and utilization of Kuye River

As early as the Ming Dynasty, Shenmu County built Hejiaqu in the Kuye River Basin, and introduced Sizhi River to irrigate 620 mu of land in Hujiagetai and Hejiapo of Shenmu County. Wenjiaqu was built in Qing Dynasty to irrigate 573 mu of Wenjiachuan and Hejiachuan.

After liberation, a large number of water conservancy projects were built on the Kuye River, and the old irrigation channels were transformed, so that the irrigation area of land along the river reached 75,000 mu.

The Yi Yun Canal, with a total length of more than 25 kilometers, draws wild water from Wangqu Grottoes in the upper reaches of Shenmu County and ends at Guojia Pagoda to irrigate the land on both sides.

Eryun Canal, more than 36 kilometers long, takes water from Dongye River below Yangjiaping. This irrigation canal extends to the mouth of Dongye River and irrigates the land on both sides.
