For example, it is easy to be considered as the preface of his own poem "Teng Wang Ge". Actually, it's very different. Its original title is Preface to the Autumn Pavilion, which is the so-called "Farewell Preface"-Tang people are used to writing poems when leaving, and there are often words when leaving, so this farewell preface often has both the nature of poetic preface and the content of parting words.
As the preface of poetry, Wang Bo's Preface to Wang Tengting is the preface of many works, not just his own poems. Scholar-officials get together, and everyone writes poems and forms small collections, which is a tradition since Jin people's Shi Chong Jingu Collection and Wang Xizhi's Lanting Collection. This ethos was particularly prevalent in the Tang Dynasty, when scholars gathered and left, and there were often poems. At that time, Gong Yan, the secretariat of Hongzhou, gave a big banquet in Tengwangge. He arranged for his son-in-law Meng to write a preface in advance so that he could shine in front of everyone. But because the famous young talent Mr. Wang Bo attended the meeting-Wang Bo's father moved to the left to be the magistrate of Jiaozhou, and Wang Bo escorted him to his post, passing through Hongzhou, and then asked him to write. This was originally just a courtesy, but Wang Bo was not humble. At the same time, "Preface to Wang Teng Pavilion" has the meaning of leaving a message after the banquet. So it said, "Alas, the resort is not diligent, so it is difficult to have a big banquet. There are many prefaces in Wen Yuan Hua Ying, a large literary collection edited by Song people, which are subdivided into Preface to Selected Works, Preface to Banquet Collection, Preface to Poetry Collection and Preface to Farewell.
