She Walks in Beauty
She walks in beauty
like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
By Gee Gordon
George Gordon Byron (Gee Gordon Byron 1788-1824) was a British poet. This famous poem is a most beautiful eulogy. "Her" appearance, behavior and heart have reached the ultimate level of beauty. In fact,
the rhythm, rhyme scheme and use of language in this poem itself can be said to have reached the ultimate level of beauty.
The full version of this poem also includes the following parts:
One shade more
one ray less
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure
how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek
and o'er that brow
So soft
so calm
yet eloquent
The *** iles that win
the tints that glow.
But tell of days in goodness spent
A mind at peace with all below
A heart whose love is innocent!
She Walking through beauty;
Like the deep sky studded with stars,
Like the bright night sky without clouds.
How harmonious light and dark are,
depth and light are just right;
The light during the day is too dazzling,
The soft night is the warmest.
Beauty melts into her behavior,
Beauty melts into her eyes;
Beauty swims in the black hairline,
Beauty lingers on the bright face.
Not a trace of brilliance,
A lot of softness;
The tolerant thoughts are precious,
The hidden soul More mellow;
On the cheeks, on the brows,
Silence is better than sound;
There you can experience the peace of mind,
There Can appreciate the tenderness of emotion.
That convincing smile,
that faint blush,
tells of the elegant time spent,
revealed A deposit of good character.
Treat everything in the world with peace of mind,
Just like the beautiful God;
A heart filled with love,
A heart forever So pure.
